Additional Persecution News from China – May 20, 2018 (28 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 19 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 24 were illegally arrested.

1. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Xingxiang Detained

Ms. Wang Xingxiang was arrested on May 4, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Dehui City Detention Center for 15 days. Officers from the Dehui Domestic Security Division then transferred her to the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center.

Mr. Qu Jianhui was arrested by officers from the Qingshanhu Police Department on May 17, 2018. He was taken to the Erqibeilu Detention Center.

3. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Sufang and Ms. Li Arrested

Ms. Guo Sufang and Ms. Li from the Fangzi New Area were arrested by officers from the Jingshankou Police Station May 16, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong.

Both practitioners were taken to the Weifang City Detention Center, but were released after failing the physical examination.

4. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Yuling's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Liu Yuling from Anping County was arrested by officers from the Hezhuang Township Police Station on the morning of May 16, 2018. His whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Che Guoping Taken to Prison

Ms. Che Guoping was arrested by officers from the Yunhe Police Department on the evening of May 22, 2017. She was taken to the Dezhou City Detention Center.

Ms. Che was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term and fined 5,000 yuan. She was taken to the Shandong Province Women's Prison on April 12, 2018.

6. [Gaizhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yan Chunxiang Sentenced

Ms. Yan Chunxiang was sentenced to a seven-month prison term on May 18, 2018.

7. [Guiding County, Guizhou Province] Ms. Zhou Xiaochao and Ms. Shi Dengling Sentenced

Ms. Zhou Xiaochao and Ms. Shi Dengling were tried in the Guiding County Court on April 25, 2018.

Ms. Zhou was sentenced to a five-and-a-half-year prison term, and Ms. Shi was sentenced to a five-year prison term on May 8.

8. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Mr. Liu Yaode's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Liu Yaode, 70, from the Xuzhuang area, Sansuolou Administration Village, Baitan Town, Fugou County, was arrested by officers from the Baitan Town Police Station in early October 2017. His Falun Gong books and informational materials were confiscated.

Mr. Liu's whereabouts are unknown.

9. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Rong Chuncheng Detained

Mr. Rong Chuncheng from the Juchenghe Residential Community was arrested by officers from the Lijiaying Police Station on the morning of May 14, 2018. He was taken to the Gaomi City Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Yuling from Botou City was arrested by officers from the Haocun Town Police Station and Yu Yue, the deputy mayor of Haocun Town, on May 17, 2018. She was taken to the Cangzhou City Detention Center.

Dr. Kong Jie was recently sentenced to a two-and-a-half year prison term, and fined 3,000 yuan.

12. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Xuelian Arrested

Ms. Li Xuelian was arrested on the evening of May 18, 2018, for distributing the book The Ultimate Mission of Communism in Pengshan County. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Xu Hongying from Anqiu City was arrested on May 11, 2018, and taken to the Weifang City Detention Center on May 13.

14. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Chen Yongran, from Xiaoguozhai Village, Qingshui Town, Guan County, was arrested by officers from the Wanshan Township Police Station on May 5, 2018. She was taken to the Guan Detention Center, and her home was ransacked.

Ms. Zhang Huanmei and Ms. Hao Xiuyun, from Wanglianzi Village, Lanao Township, Guan County, were arrested around May 15, 2018. Their homes were ransacked.

15. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Yinhui and Mr. Sun Dehe Detained

Ms. Sun Yinhui and Mr. Sun Dehe from Damoujia Town were arrested by officers from the Damoujia Police Station on the afternoon of May 17, 2018. They were taken to the Gaomi City Detention Center.

16. [Shanghai] Ms. Mo Shiwan and Mr. Huang Jian Officially Placed Under Arrest

Ms. Mo Shiwan and Mr. Huang Jian from the Fengxian District were arrested by officers from the Fengxian Police Department on April 18, 2018. They were officially placed under arrest on May 18.

17. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Detained

Mr. Shan Zengxi, Mr. Shan Jiandong, Ms. Wang Lanshang, Ms. Zhang Xiaoqun, and Mr. Tian Xingbao were arrested by officers from the Hengshui City Police Department and Weiqiao Police Station on May 17, 2018.

The officers ransacked their homes and confiscated printers, computers, Falun Gong books, and about 20,000 yuan in cash.

Four practitioners were released after eight days of detention. Mr. Tian is still being held in a detention center.

18. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Xuan Caijiao Detained

Ms. Xuan Caijiao was arrested on May 7, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong in Nanhai District, Foshan City. She was taken to the Nanhai Detention Center.

19. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shi Guizhen Detained

Ms. Shi Guizhen, 63, was arrested by officers from the Hunan Police Station on the afternoon of May 1, 2018. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Shi was taken to the Anshan City Women's Detention Center.

Ms. Xu Xiuyun was taken to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison on May 15, 2018.

21. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Qiaobian Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Qiaobian, 66, from Renqiu City, was arrested on August 9, 2017, then released on bail due to her poor health. She was sentenced to two years in prison on April 4, 2018, and officials extorted 10,000 yuan from her. Her computer, printer, and cellphone were confiscated.

22. [Tianjin] Ms. Cao Shichun Mistreated in Prison

Ms. Cao Shichun is being held in the No. 6 Ward of Tianjin Women's Prison. She has been mistreated and recently had a stroke.

23. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Tao Yuzhen Taken to Prison

Ms. Tao Yuzhen, 64, was arrested on June 28, 2016. She was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term by the Ganjingzi District Court. She appealed, but the Dalian Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict.

Ms. Tao was taken to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison on May 16, 2018.

24. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Weiguang Detained

Mr. Zhang Weiguang from the Babaishang area was arrested by officers from the Railway Station Police Station on the morning of May 15, 2018. He was taken to the Longfeng Detention Center.

25. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sui Mingying Arrested

Ms. Sui Mingying, from Donggejiaqiao Village, Juchenghe Town, was arrested at her home by officers from the Gaomi Police Department on May 19, 2018. The officers confiscated her Falun Gong books.

26. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Guoai and Mr. Zhang Lin Sentenced

Mr. Liu Guoai and Mr. Zhang Lin were arrested in September 2017, and taken to the Moping District Detention Center.

Both practitioners were tried in the Moping Court on April 13, 2018, and were each sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison.

27. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced

Four practitioners were tried in the Wutongqiao District Court on May 8, 2018.

Ms. Gu Suhua was sentenced to a three-and-a-half year prison term.Mr. Liu Bin was sentenced to a three-year-and-five month prison term.Ms. Zhang Guixiu was sentenced to a one-and-a-half year prison term.Ms. Zhang Guilan was sentenced to a ten-month prison term.

28. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yang Baosen Passes Away Due to Persecution

Mr. Yang Baosen, 61, from Qian'an County, was sentenced to ten years in prison. He was tortured in the Gongzhuling Prison for close to nine years.

Mr. Yang passed away on April 7, 2018.
