Additional Persecution News from China – May 25, 2018 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 2 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 34 were illegally arrested.

1. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Junxian Detained

Mr. Zhang Junxian was arrested by officers from the Hedong Police Station on May 6, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing the brochure The Ultimate Goal of Communism.

Mr. Zhang was held for 15 days before being transferred to the Benxi City Detention Center. He later developed health problems and was taken to Jinshan Hospital.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Lichun and Her Parents Arrested

Ms. Liu Lichun, her mother Ms. He Fengqin, and her father Mr. Liu Hongzhi from the Shijingshan District were arrested at their home by officers from the Shijingshan Domestic Security Division on the evening of May 13, 2018.

Ms. Liu's parents were released a day or two later.

3. [Nanchang County, Jiangxi Province] Six Practitioners Detained

Ms. Chen Wen was arrested by officers from the Nanchang County Domestic Security Division on the morning of April 17, 2018. Her home was ransacked, and her computer confiscated. Ms. Hu Mitao and Ms. Guo Chengjun were arrested at home around the same time.

Ms. Chen, Ms. Hu, and Ms. Guo were taken to the Nanchang Detention Center.

Ms. Chen Yulian, Ms. Tao Genxiu, and Ms. Gao Yinfeng were also arrested at home, and their places were ransacked. They were taken to the Xinjian District Detention Center.

4. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Mr. Lu Qingshan, Mr. Ta Houtian, and Ms. Wang Zhilian from Banlashanzi Village in Chaoyang Township were arrested by officers from the Dehui City Domestic Security Division and Chaoyang Township Police Station on May 22, 2018. Their homes were ransacked.

The three practitioners were taken to the Dehui Detention Center.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Qi Lihua from Qijia Township in the Shuangyang District was arrested at her home by Dongjie Police Station officers on the evening of May 19, 2018.

Ms. Wang Xiurong was arrested around the same time but was later released because she failed the physical exam.

Ms. Han Chunying from Dujia Village in the Shuangyang District was arrested on March 26, 2018. Her whereabouts are unknown.

6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zhang Shouxiang from Caojia Village in the Huanglou Neighborhood of Qingzhou City was arrested by officers from the Huanglou Police Station and Qingzhou Police Department in early May 2018.

Mr. Chen Huanzhong from the Wangmugong Economic Development Zone in Qingzhou was arrested on the evening of May 8. He was taken to a detention center and charged 260 yuan for a physical examination.

Mr. Xu Hongliang from Qingzhou was arrested on May 12.

Ms. Zhao, who sells shoes, was arrested by officers from the Weifang City Police Department and Qiaoguan Town Police Station on May 21.

Ms. Xing Yuqin and Ms. Xing Yujuan were arrested by officers from the Weifang Police Department and Qiaoguan Police Station on May 22. Both practitioners were taken to the Weifang Brainwashing Center and forced to pay 1,000 yuan.

Ms. Qi Meiying from the Kuiwen District was arrested at her restaurant by three SWAT Team officers on the morning of May 23. Her whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Sun Renzhi Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Sun Renzhi was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan by the Anzhou District Court on the morning of May 22, 2018.

8. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yuan Xuefen Arrested

Ms. Yuan Xuefen from the Longquanyi District was arrested by officers from the Luodai Police Station on the afternoon of May 22, 2018. Her home was ransacked.

9. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Chunlan and two other practitioners were arrested on April 24, 2018, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials.

Ms. Liu's home was ransacked, and two laptops, Falun Gong books, nearly 100 copies of Falun Gong materials, and a total of 18,000 yuan in cash were confiscated.

The police never mentioned the cash when they interrogated her, nor did they ask her to sign a list of confiscated items as required by law.

10. [Panshi City, Jilin Province] Mr. Guo Baojun Detained

Mr. Gao Baojun was reported to the police for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in Dongcuocao Village, Hulan Town, Panshi City. He was arrested on the night of March 18, 2018, and taken to the Panshi Detention Center.

The Panshi Procuratorate approved the arrest on April 18. Mr. Gao’s health is deteriorating.

11. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Zhang Yumei and Mr. Liu Cheng Detained

Ms. Zhang Yumei and Mr. Liu Cheng were arrested by officers from the Hongmiaozi Police Station in the Hongshan District on the night of March 19, 2018. They have been detained for more than two months.

The police fabricated the testimony, claiming that the two practitioners hung banners with the words “Falun Dafa is good”. The arrest has been approved recently.

12. [Shanzhi City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Tried

Mr. Ma Yitao, Mr. Li Xueliang, Ms. Sheng Chunxia, and Ms. Ma Yingjie were tried in the Yabali Forestry Bureau Court on May 23, 2018.

Mr. Ma and Mr. Li’s lawyers pleaded “not guilty” in their clients' defense. The two practitioners also defended themselves. Mr. Ma said that the police tortured him to extract a confession. No verdict was reached.
