Additional Persecution News from China – March 25, 2018 (22 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 26 Falun Gong practitioners were illegally arrested and either detained or imprisoned, 5 practitioners were sentenced to prison, and at least 3 practitioner's whereabouts remain unknown.

1. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Gao Hongzhou Detained

Mr. Gao Hongzhou was arrested by officers from the Shuanghou Town Police Station on March 7, 2018. The police ransacked his home and interrogated him. He was detained for 15 days.

2. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xie Xingqiong and Ms. Liu Zhongxiu Arrested

Ms. Xie Xingqiong and Ms. Liu Zhongxiu were arrested on March 23, 2018, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were taken to the Kaifaqu Police Station, and were released that evening.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zheng Haijuan and Ms. Cai Shuling Detained

Ms. Zheng Haijuan and Ms. Cai Shuling were arrested by officers from the Gucheng Police Station in Nong'an County on March 23, 2018.

Ms. Zheng was detained for ten days, while Ms. Cai was detained for three days.

4. [Jiujiang County, Jiangxi Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Liu Zengbao, Ms. Tong Jinping, Ms. Cao, and Ms. Jian were arrested on March 22, 2018. Their homes were ransacked.

5. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Fang Zhaolan and Her Son's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Fang Zhaolan and her young son went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in 2000. Their whereabouts remain unknown.

6. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Junlan Arrested

Ms. Li Junlan was arrested on February 22, 2018, while applying for a passport at the police department. She was taken to the Qianjin Police Station.

The police ransacked her home and confiscated a picture of the founder of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books. She was released later that day.

7. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Cai Yun Arrested

Ms. Cai Yun was arrested in early April 2017, and was taken to the No. 5 Ward of Jidong Prison.

8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Zhaoxia Detained

Ms. Zhou Zhaoxia was arrested by officers from the Shuiguohu Police Station on March 12, 2018. She was taken to the Wuhan No. 1 Detention Center.

9. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhu Shude Detained

Ms. Zhu Shude, in her 50s, was arrested by officers from the Xianfeng Police Station on March 19, 2018, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home.

Ms. Zhu was taken to the Xiangtan City Detention Center.

10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jin Yan and Ms. Wang Xiujun Detained

Ms. Jin Yan and Ms. Wang Xiujun were arrested by officers from the Baijulu Police Station on March 17, 2018. They were taken to the Weizigou Detention Center for 15 days.

11. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Zhengbi, 70, Ms. Yang Chuanxiu, 71, and Ms. Chen Huaxiu, in her 50s, were arrested by officers from the Jiahe Police Station on March 22, 2018, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were released later that day.

Ms. Mu Yongxia was arrested and taken to the Daqing City Detention Center.

Ms. Li Xiuling, 60, and another practitioner with the surname Lu, were arrested on March 22, 2018, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Guo Xiuhua was arrested by officers from the local domestic security division on March 23, 2018. She was taken to a detention center.

16. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Shengcheng Detained

Mr. Wang Shengcheng was arrested by officers from the Bahao Town Police Station on February 28, 2018, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong.

Mr. Wang was held in the Yushu Detention Center for five days.

Ms. Zheng Haijuan was arrested by plainclothes officers on March 23, 2018, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Gucheng Police Station.

18. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Shumei and Ms. Wang Guolan Detained

Ms. Zhang Shumei was arrested by officers from the Fushan Town Police Station on March 21, 2018, for hanging banners with information about Falun Gong on them.

Ms. Wang Guolan, Ms. Zhang's neighbor, was also arrested for posting informational couplets about Falun Gong on people's front doors.

Their homes were ransacked and they were detained for ten days.

19. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Lianghao and Ms. Zhang Hong Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Lianghao and Ms. Zhang Hong, both from Xianning City, were arrested in Ruichang City, Jiangxi Province on October 21, 2017.

Mr. Wang was sentenced to a six-month prison term and fined 3,000 yuan. Ms. Zhang was sentenced to a two-year prison term and fined 5,000 yuan.

Both practitioners are being held in the Ruichang Detention Center.

20. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Feng'e Detained

Ms. Liu Feng'e was arrested at the Shuangyashan Railway Station on February 6, 2018, for having three Falun Gong books in her possession. She was taken to the Huanan Detention Center by officers from the Jiamusi Police Department.

Ms. Liu was held there for five days.

21. [Tianjin] Ms. Liu Yuhong Imprisoned

Ms. Liu Yuhong was sentenced to a 15-month prison term by the Donglin Court on December 20, 2017. She was transferred from the Donglin Detention Center to a women's prison on March 22, 2018.

22. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Mr. Shao Shengrui and His Wife Ms. Fan Yingxia Sentenced

Mr. Shao Shengrui and his wife Ms. Fan Yingxia were both sentenced to three years in prison by the Toutunhe District Court on January 11, 2018. They appealed to the Urumqi City Intermediate Court, which held trials on these two cases on March 26.
