Falun Gong Events in the U.S. and Germany: “I Feel Strong Energy”
(Minghui.org) Besides the many events that took place all over the world last week to commemorate the April 25 Peaceful Protest, Falun Gong practitioners also held regular activities to tell people about this ancient Chinese cultivation way. This report covers four events in the U.S.A. and Germany.
Every year, practitioners in St. Louis, Missouri, participate in “Earth Day” at Forest Park. It is one of the largest Earth Day events in North America, and this year more than 10,000 people attended.
A young couple who said they sensed strong energy when they passed the practitioners' booth asked about the practice and wanted to go to the local exercise site.
Similarly, a gentleman felt a strong energy current course through his body as he read the Falun Gong materials.
“I could feel strong energy radiating from you when you meditated,” he said.
Due to practitioners' persistent efforts over the last almost 20 years, many visitors have heard about the persecution of Falun Gong in China.
Jeff, a local, said he knew about the state-sanctioned organ harvesting in China. To the practitioners' surprise, Jeff also knew that the Chinese embassy has exerted pressure on U.S. lawmakers, trying to interfere with the resolutions that condemn forced organ harvesting.
“It's horrible,” he said. “How can we let something like that happen in the free world? Everybody should condemn this crime and do something to stop it.”
The annual Picnic Day Parade at the University of California-Davis has been a chance for local practitioners to demonstrate the beauty of Falun Gong for over 10 years.
Falun Gong's Tian Guo Marching Band was warmly welcomed by the 104th Picnic Day Parade spectators.
As the band marched by the stage, the parade host introduced Falun Gong to the spectators as a cultivation practice based on “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.”
Practitioners in Cologne, Germany, set up a booth in front of Cologne Cathedral, a very popular tourist destination, on April 21 to tell people about the state-sanctioned organ harvesting in China.
Signing the petition to condemn the persecution
Many tourists stopped by and signed the petition to support Falun Gong's peaceful resistance.
Practitioners were happy to see so many tourists from mainland China take the Falun Gong flyers. Many of them announced their resignations from the communist party with practitioners' help.
That same day, practitioners in Hamburg set up a booth on Spitalerstraße in downtown. They focused on letting people know about the forced organ harvesting and collecting signatures.
A local woman was happy to see a practitioner whom she'd spoken to a few years ago. She had gotten a Falun Gong flyer back then and wanted to learn the exercises but then lost it.
This time, she signed the petition and took a few copies of the petition for her friends to sign.
Before she left, she hugged the practitioner with tears in her eyes. “It was predestined that I would run into you again,” she said.
Another lady commented that she often saw Falun Gong practitioners as she drove by the Chinese consulate but was never was able to stop and see what was going on. She was glad to have a chance to read the details on the banner.
When a young man wondered if his signature would help, a practitioner told him, “Every signature is important.”
“Signatures like these pushed the European Parliament to pass the resolution that condemns the forced organ harvesting,” the practitioner told him.
Another man who overheard their conversation signed the petition.
