(Minghui.org) I used to suffer from many illnesses and had a very frail body, but since I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1998, I have become healthy with better morals. People around me have witnessed the miraculous effects of Dafa.
When the former leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Jiang Zemin launched his persecution of Falun Dafa in July 1999, lots of practitioners were arrested and sentenced. I was forced to leave my home to avoid persecution.
Body Swolling Disappears a Week After Exercising
I worked in a bakery after I escaped my hometown. It was very busy, and I didn't have time to do the Dafa exercises or read the Dafa books. After a while, my whole body became seriously swollen.
I asked my boss if I could use a room to do the Falun Dafa exercises and said that I would recover within a week if he'd let me use it. I also told him that someone would bring a Dafa book for me the following day. My boss didn't believe me.
A woman came to buy some buns the next morning and talked to us about Falun Dafa and the persecution. I realized that she was also a Dafa practitioner, so I told her that I needed to get hold of a Dafa book.
She quickly returned home and brought two Dafa books for me. My boss was very surprised.
I began to read and do the exercises from that night on.
The swelling disappeared a week later, like I told my boss it would.
I worked from dawn till dusk, and even though I only slept for three hours a day, I felt energized all the time.
Handling Things Calmly
A girl in the shop accidentally broke a thermos, spilling boiling hot water down her leg. She cried and complained that it was my fault and started swearing at me. The boss and his wife then both swore at me in front of the customers.
I didn't say a word as they continued to yell. Some customers felt it was too much and began to defend me. After the customers left, I told the girl that a person should be honest.
“You'd better tell the boss the truth,” I said.
The girl then apologized to me.
“I really admire Falun Gong practitioners. You have such amazing forbearance!” said my boss.
Another time, after I had just put a batch of buns into the oven, the boss's wife asked me to do something else. I asked her to help turn off the oven in ten minutes. Unfortunately, she forgot to do so and all the buns were burnt.
The boss and his wife both reprimanded me about it; eventually, the other staff joined in. They were all criticizing me. I just endured it and didn't say anything.
Though I was quite upset, I was able to remember what Master said in Zhuan Falun: “When it’s difficult to endure, you can endure it. When it’s impossible to do, you can do it.” Then I calmed down.
Just then, an elderly man came into the shop and asked if we sold burnt buns. He had gone to a few bakeries and none of them did. My boss was so happy and packed all the buns for him.
Since then, my boss and his wife have treated me a lot better.
“Look at the Falun Gong Practitioner's Work!”
A while later, I left my bakery job to work for a brick manufacturer. My job entailed picking out small stones from the conveyor belt. The boss was there to watch over people, as people often didn't do a good job.
After I started, the boss only watched me for a few days in total. He thought that I was doing a better job than the others. By removing all of the small stones in my batches, the quality of the soil was much improved. The bricks sold very well and orders were queuing up. We were becoming more efficient.
I normally went to the toilet when the conveyor belt stopped so that they wouldn't need to stop operations because of me.
I worked there for nearly a year. One day the boss pointed to the stones and said to the other staff, “Look at the Falun Gong practitioner's work! Think of how many bricks would be ruined if she didn't pick all these stones out. You all complain that I pay her too much. Honestly, for this quality of work, it won't be enough if I paid her double!”
The boss only paid 400 yuan to the other workers, but he had to be there to monitor them. He paid me 600 yuan because my work was faster and better.
The Head of the Village Gets Punished
After the persecution started in 1999, the CCP issued an informal regulation that people would get rewarded for reporting Falun Gong practitioners to the police.
I was reported by the head of my village and taken to the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. The head of the village got a 5,000 yuan reward because of this.
After I was arrested, many practitioners from around the world called the head of the village and kindly told him about Falun Dafa and the persecution, and asked him to stop helping the CCP persecute Falun Gong practitioners. The practitioners did this for four months, but he didn't want to listen.
The head of the village later had an aneurysm. He spent 300,000 yuan on treatment, but it didn't help. He died in the end.
I wrote my experience of how I was persecuted at the forced labor camp and gave it to people in my village. People learned the facts about Falun Dafa and tried to protect me when I was harassed by the police again.
The new head of the village is a young man who also worked with local police and wanted to arrest me. A dozen police came to the village to look for me, but I ran away from home in time.
Soon after, this new village head was severely beaten by gangsters. His wife developed a very severe mental illness. She's spent lots of money on treatment, but nothing has helped.
I used this opportunity to tell people in the village not to get involved in the persecution of Falun Dafa, as Dafa practitioners are cultivating Buddhahood. Whoever gets involved with it will be punished.
I also went to the home of the new village head to let them know the facts about Dafa. The village head accepted the informational materials this time around.
