Additional Persecution News from China – April 5, 2018 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 13 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 were illegally arrested.

1. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Han Guangzhi Sentenced to Prison; Ms. Ning Tingyun Facing Trial

The Yushu City Court rejected documents prepared by Ms. Han Guangzhi's lawyer, and sentenced her to seven years in prison on the morning of April 3, 2018. Ms. Han was also fined 20,000 yuan.

Ms. Ning Tingyun from Heilongjiang Province is facing trial.

2. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Zhaocui and Ms. Yuan Wenxia Detained

Ms. Xu Zhaocui, from Beiguan Village in the Zichuan District, was arrested by officers from the Zichuan Domestic Security Division on March 17, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Zibo City Detention Center, and only released on bail on March 29 after her family paid 3,000 yuan.

Ms. Yuan Wenxia, in her fifties, from the Anju Residential Community in Zichuan, was arrested at her home by four police officers around March 26, 2018. She was taken to the Zibo Detention Center.

3. [Tongling City, Anhui Province] Five Elderly Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Ye Yuangui (81), Ms. Xu Guiying (80), Ms. Fang Xiaotao (72), Ms. Wang Xiangzhi (71), and Ms. Meng Dexiu (70), from the Lixin area of the Tongguan District, were arrested by officers from the Development Zone Police Department, Xincheng Police Station, and the Criminal Police Team on March 24, 2018.

Ms. Xu and Ms. Fang were released, while Ms. Ye, Ms. Wang and Ms. Meng are still being detained.

4. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Zhen and Ms. Li Zhongxiu Detained

Ms. Yu Zhen and Ms. Li Zhongxiu were arrested by officers from the North District Domestic Security Division of Qilu Petrochemical, on the evening of March 24, 2018.

Ms. Yu and Ms. Li were taken to the Qilu Petrochemical Detention Center, before being transferred to the Zhangdian Detention Center on April 4, 2018.

5. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Six Practitioners Placed Under Criminal Detention

Several practitioners were arrested by officers from the Beijiuchang Township Police Station on the morning of April 1, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong in Nanjiuchang Village, Beijiuchang Township, Huai'an County. One practitioner was released for health reasons on the evening of April 3, while another was taken to the Shisanli Detention Center.

Six practitioners were placed under criminal detention, including Ms. Lin Xiangmei, Mr. Xin Yu, Mr. Lu Hongbing, Mr. Wang Junqing, and Ms. Zhao Liping, who were taken to the Zhangjiakou City Detention Center. Mr. Yang Zhancheng was taken to the Huai'an County Detention Center.

6. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Mr. Sun Ligang Detained

Mr. Sun Ligang, 51, from Chaohu City, was arrested at his home by officers from the Chaohu Police Department on March 15, 2018. His home was ransacked.

Mr. Sun was taken to a detention center for 15 days of detention.

7. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Fuhua Detained

Ms. Guo Fuhua was arrested by the deputy chief of Yangyuan County Police Department Ma Xianghui, Domestic Security Division officer Feng Xiugang, and other officers on April 3, 2018.

Ms. Guo taken to the Sanmafang Police Station, and was transferred to the Zhangjiakou City Detention Center the following day.

8. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Shao Dawei, his wife, and two other practitioners were arrested in Jiajia Village, Liangjiazi Township by officers from the Liangjiazi Police Station on March 31, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong.

Wang Jianzhong, the director of the police station, took Mr. Shan and his wife to a detention center several times, but each time the detention center refused to accept them for health reasons.

9. [Heze City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Chen Yuhua and Ms. Cheng Panyun (in their seventies), and Ms. Li Zhenhuan (in her sixties) drove to the countryside to talk to people about Falun Gong on March 29, 2018. They were arrested in Anxing Town in the Mudan District, and their car was confiscated.

Head of the Mudan District Domestic Security Division Fu Yonghong, and about seven other officers ransacked Ms. Li's home that afternoon. They confiscated a computer, Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and 10,000 yuan.

The three practitioners were taken to the Heze City Detention Center.

10. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Liu Yongying Detained

Ms. Liu Yongying was arrested at her home on April 4, 2018. The police ransacked the place and confiscated a computer, printer, DVD burner, paper cutter, and Falun Gong books.

Ms. Liu was taken to the Nanchang City No. 1 Detention Center the following day.

11. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wei Yanhua Detained

Ms. Wei Yanhua was arrested on the morning of April 3, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her bag was searched and the money and cell phone inside were confiscated.

Over ten officers ransacked her home that afternoon, and confiscated her child's computer.

Ms. Wei is being held in the Tiexi Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

12. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Xie Mingzhen, Xiaowen, and another practitioner hung Falun Gong banners in the Qingshanhu area on the evening of April 3, 2018. Ms. Xie and Xiaowen were arrested by officers from the Qingshanhu Domestic Security Division.

The officers followed the other practitioner to Ms. Liu Yuying's home. They broke into Ms. Liu's place at around midnight, arrested her, and ransacked the place.

13. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Mr. Chen Guijin Officially Placed Under Arrest

Mr. Chen Guijin from Yanjin County was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on March 19, 2018. He was taken to the Xinxiang City Hospital for a physical, before being taken to a detention center.

Mr. Chen was officially placed under arrest on April 1.

14. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhu Chongfen Detained

Mr. Zhu Chongfen, in his fifties, from Zhujiayu Village, Guanzhuang Town, was arrested at his home by officers from the Guanzhuang Town Police Station in the Zhangqiu District on March 11, 2018.

Mr. Zhu was taken to the police station, and released later that day. He was arrested again three days later, and detained for ten days.
