Additional Persecution News from China – March 24, 2018 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 9 were illegally arrested.

1. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhu Yunxiang Arrested

Ms. Zhu Yunxiang was arrested on March 19, 2018.

2. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Liu Haixia Detained

Ms. Liu Haixia from Aohan Banner was arrested by officers from the Huizhou Police Station while talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of March 20, 2018. She was taken to the Aohan Banner Police Department's Detention Center and held for 12 days.

3. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Zheng Haijuan Arrested

Ms. Zheng Haijuan was arrested and taken to the Gucheng Police Station by plainclothes officers for talking to people about the practice on March 23, 2018.

4. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Shengcheng Detained

Mr. Wang Shengcheng was arrested by officers from the Bahao Town Police Station for telling people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of February 28, 2018. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books and photos of Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of the practice. Mr. Wang was taken to the Yushu Detention Center and held for five days.

5. [Huaying City, Sichuan Province] Mr. He Shaomi Detained

Mr. He Shaomi from Qinghua Town was arrested and taken to the Yuechi County Detention Center in Yuechi County around January 5, 2018. His home was ransacked.

6. [Tai'an City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Yizheng Arrested

Mr. Zhang Yizheng from Shankou Town was putting up Falun Gong flyers when he was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Shankou Police Station on February 18, 2018. He was released after being extorted 1,000 yuan.

The officers later ransacked Mr. Zhang's home on February 23, 2018. They confiscated Falun Gong books, DVDs, a small music player, and informational materials. They arrested Mr. Zhang again and took him to the police station, where he was forced to write a guarantee statement. He was released after the police extorted 5,000 yuan from him.

7. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Xiuqing and Ms. Liu Hongjun Tried

The Shouguang Court sentenced Ms. Guo Xiuqing to seven years in prison and Ms. Liu Hongjun to three years on November 21, 2017. They appealed to the Weifang Intermediate Court, but the original verdicts were upheld without a hearing.

8. [Penglai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Dagong's Case Turned Over to Procuratorate

Mr. Liu Dagong's case was turned over to the Penglai City Procuratorate by the the Penglai City 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division on March 11, 2018.

9. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Shi Shuangxi and Ms. Jing Taken into Custody

Mr. Shi Shuangxi, 66, and Ms. Jing were arrested by officers from the Datong City Police Department on the evening of March 22, 2018. They are held in the Chengqu Police Department.

10. [Nantong City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Jiang Chao Missing for Nearly Three Years

Mr. Jing Chao from Chongchuan District was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center in July 2015. He was held for one month. After that, his whereabouts have been unknown.

11. [Jingjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Geng Yinfeng Given a Three-Year Prison Term

Ms. Geng Yinfeng, 79, was given a three-year prison term on the morning of March 22, 2018. At the same time, Ms. Zang Aihua and Ms. Feng Wei were each given a two-year prison term to be served outside prison.

12. [Zhengding County, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Jinping Given a Three-Year Prison Term

Ms. Yang Jinping was arrested on the morning of December 10, 2017. She was recently given a three-year prison term. She is held in Hebei Women's Prison.

13. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Feng Jiwu Held in Strict Management Area

Mr. Feng Jiwu was held in the No. 9 Ward in Fanjiatai Prison, Shayang County. He was transferred to the strict supervision section on March 6, 2018, for talking to others about Falun Gong. He was also forced to stand and squat for an extended period of time. Family visits have been denied.

14. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xing Xiaohong Missing

Ms. Xing Xiaohong was arrested in the Wulidun area in Hanyang District on March 10, 2018. Her whereabouts are unknown.

15. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Detained

Ms. Wang was arrested on March 20, 2018. She is held in the Xishui Detention Center.

16. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Jiechun Tortured in Prison

Ms. Li Jiechun was given a five-year prison term by the Beipiao Court. She was taken to the Dalian Prison, where she was tortured with the "stewing the eagle" method in order to transform her. She was surrounded and harassed by criminal inmates during the day, and forced to sit on a narrow stool that was two fingers in width and 6 inches in height while deprived of sleep. Ms. Li went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

17. [Chongqing] Ms. Cao Chengying Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Cao Chengying from Shapingba District was recently arrested and taken to the Qianzhugou Brainwashing Center by the Yubeilu Residential Community personnel.
