Additional Persecution News from China – January 26, 2018 (21 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 23 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 27 were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Jia Ruiping Tried

Ms. Jia Ruiping from Daxing District was arrested on April 13, 2017. She has been held in the Daxing Detention Center. She was abused and is now very weak. Ms. Jia was tried on the morning of January 25, 2018.

2. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Liyan and Ms. Zhang Shuxia Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Li Liyan and Ms. Zhang Shuxia from the Hongguang Farm, Qianguo County, were arrested by officers from the Changlong Police Station on January 25, 2018 for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Changlong Farmers Market. Their whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Da'an City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Ma Fengyi, Ms. Wang Xuemei, Ms. Zhang Fengling, and Mr. Wang Hongyan were arrested in September 2017. They are currently held in the Baicheng City Detention Center.

Mr. Chi Minyou from Linjiang City was arrested on January 20, 2018. He was detained for 10 days.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Jingfu Arrested

Mr. Li Jingfu was arrested at home by officers from the Jilin Street Police Station, Erdao District, on the afternoon of January 23, 2018. He was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center. The detention center refused to accept him after he failed the physical exam, which indicated that he had liver, kidney, and heart problems. He was released.

6. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Hua Detained

Ms. Zhang Hua from Rongcheng City was arrested and her home was ransacked. She is currently held in the Wendeng Detention Center.

Ms. Lai Yonghua and Ms. Huang from Ju County were arrested and taken to the Rizhao City Detention Center by plainclothes officers on January 20, 2018 for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Lingyang Town Farmers Market.

8. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Yilian and Ms. Ma Liangxiang Detained

Ms. Song Yilian, 69, and Ms. Ma Liangxiang, in her 60s, from the Development Zone, were arrested by officers from the Yinzhu Police Station on January 18, 2018 for telling people about Falun Gong. Both are being held in the Pudong Detention Center.

9. [Shihezi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Deng Yanling Detained

Ms. Deng Yanling, a retired worker from Shihezi University, received a phone call from Gao Lunpeng, director of the University Police Station, on the afternoon of January 19, 2018. When she went to Gao's office, she was arrested and taken to a detention center for 15 days of detention.

10. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Tian Zhixian Taken into Custody

Ms. Tian Zhixian from Mancheng District was reported by Li Yancai, party secretary for Xishanbei Village, Xishanbei Township, for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Xishanbei Township Farmers Market on the morning of January 25, 2018. She was arrested and taken to the Jichang Police Station.

11. [Fengning County, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Wang Shiwei, a taxi driver, was arrested by Zhang Pengfei and other officers from the Fengning County Domestic Security Division on January 4, 2018. The officers subsequently arrested Mr. Bai Xinguo, Mr. Sui Haidong, Ms. Han Ling and Mr. Liu Jiafu, who rode in Mr. Wang's taxi to hang Falun Gong banners. Mr. Bai and Mr. Sui were released the following day. Ms. Han was released after being extorted for 10,000 yuan. Mr. Liu and Mr. Wang remain in custody.

12. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. He Yongfang and Ms. Yang Fengying Officially Arrested

Mr. He Yongfang from Matuodian, Changli County, was officially arrested on January 2, 2018. He is being held in the Changli Detention Center.

Ms. Yang Fengying from Changli County was officially arrested on January 16, 2018. She is being held in the Qinhuangdao Detention Center.

13. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Shang Yushen Given a Four-Year Prison Term

Mr. Shang Yushen was arrested and his home was ransacked by officers from the Gaoguzhuang Town Police Station, Shenzhou City, on April 14, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. He is being held in the Hengshui City Detention Center. He was given a four-year prison term on December 29, 2017.

14. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Eleven Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Wang Yuelai, Mr. Mi Shibing, Ms. Liu Jumei, and eight other practitioners from the Sanhe area, Yueyang County, were arrested on the afternoon of January 24, 2018.

15. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Manmei Arrested

Ms. Li Manmei was arrested and taken to the Renminxilu Police Station on the morning of December 7, 2017 for telling a police officer about Falun Gong when the officer was tearing down stickers with information about Falun Gong.

16. [Beizhen City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cui Lijun and Mr. Quan Dechen Arrested

Ms. Cui Lijun and Mr. Quan Dechen from Baojia Township were arrested by officers from the Baojia Township Police Station on January 22, 2018. The officers ransacked their homes and confiscated over 20 Falun Gong books. Ms. Cui was released that day. Mr. Quan was detained for five days.

17. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Hongmei and Mr. Liu Yubo Detained

Ms. Zhao Hongmei and Mr. Liu Yubo from Xingcheng City were reported for talking to people about Falun Gong in Jianchang Township on January 25, 2018. They were arrested and taken to the Jianchang Township Police Station. They are currently held in the Huludao Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Yuehua was arrested by officers from the Zijing Police Station and the Linghe Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of January 19, 2018.

19. [Chongqing] Mr. Quan Qiming and Mr. Qu Chi Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Quan Qiming was given a five-year prison term, and fined 10,000 yuan, and Mr. Qu Chi was given a two-year prison term and fined 5,000 yuan by the Banan District Court on December 28, 2017.

20. [Chongqing] Mr. Liu Daoquan in Critical Condition

Mr. Liu Daoquan from Shapingba District was held in the Yongchuan Prison. The prison guards force-fed him with unknown drugs. As a result, his speech and thinking slowed, he became obese, and he could not take care of himself. Mr. Liu is now in critical condition. He was taken back home on January 25, 2018.

21. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners' Cases Turned Over to Procuratorate

Five Shuangcheng District practitioners' cases have been turned over to the Daoli District Procuratorate on January 19, 2018. Mr. Han Entong is still held in the Shuangcheng District Detention Center. Ms. Wen Shuangling, Ms. Wang Xiaohui, Ms. Wang Yihong, and Ms. Li Jinfeng are being held in the Yaziquan Detention Center.
