Falun Gong Practitioners in Japan and Indonesia Expose the Persecution Ahead of International Human Rights Day
(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Japan and Indonesia held activities on December 9 and December 8, 2018, ahead of International Human Rights Day on December 10, to expose the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Practitioners in Nagoya in Aichi-Province, Japan, collected signatures at Sakae to support the wave of lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, former head of the CCP responsible for launching the persecution in 1999.
Though it was the coldest day of winter to date, practitioners displayed banners stating “Falun Dafa is Good,” “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” “Stop Persecuting Falun Gong,” “SOS World Signature Collection,” “Stop the Chinese Communist Party's Organ Harvesting from Living Falun Gong Practitioners,” and “Support Lawsuits Against Jiang.” Many people showed their support and offered practitioners encouragement for their tireless work to raise awareness of the ongoing persecution in China.
Local resident Ms. Katsumi told a Falun Gong practitioner, “The persecution is so cruel! How could such things still happen today?” Without hesitation, she signed the petition to show her support for the lawsuits against Jiang.
Another local resident, Mr. Yamaguchi asked a practitioner, “Why doesn't China have democracy and freedom? If every Chinese could do what you are doing, the persecution wouldn't be able to continue.” Seeing a picture in which a person was laughing as a Falun Gong practitioner was being beaten, Mr. Yamaguchi said, “Look! This person is being beaten by the police, and his face is under the policeman's foot, but someone on the side is laughing. It's so sad!” He encouraged practitioners to keep up their good work.
Ms. Matsuda was deeply saddened to hear about the persecution. She signed the petition and took some flyers to share with her colleagues.
A tourist from China was surprised to see Falun Gong activities in Japan. A practitioner told her that Falun Gong has been welcomed across the world, but the CCP has slandered Falun Gong to justify its persecution. The practitioner explained that the CCP's atrocities, especially the crime of harvesting organs from living practitioners, have been exposed internationally.
The Chinese woman asked many questions and was happy to have her confusion clarified. She said, “There is no freedom of speech in China. Even a minor negative comment on a website would be deleted right away. You would be arrested for any serious comments. Democracy and freedom can be found in other countries though!” She agreed to quit the Young Pioneers, a communist party organization she had joined when she was young.
Falun Gong practitioners also protested against the persecution in front of the Chinese Consulate in Nagoya on December 10.
Falun Gong practitioners in Jakarta, Indonesia exposed the CCP's persecution near the National Monument in Merdeka Square on December 8, 2018.
Practitioners displayed banners calling for an end to the CCP's persecution, and distributed flyers about Falun Gong and the persecution. Drivers stopped to get information flyers.
An on-duty policeman listened to a practitioner discuss the persecution. He then asked for some brochures to read and wanted to know if there was a group exercise site close to his home.
Another on-duty policeman gave Falun Gong practitioners the thumbs-up. He praised practitioners for their orderly and peaceful activities.
Reporters from different media interviewed people at the site about the activities.
