Centenarians Experience Miracles When Believing in Dafa (V)
(Minghui.org) Continued from part IV.
In spite of the advanced medical skills, excellent health care, and various wellness exercises nowadays, people still feel helpless in the face of disease. Many people are still living in the sorrow of illness, especially those who can't afford medical expenses and can only wait to die.
Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) spread throughout China from 1992 to 1999. The principles of Falun Dafa – Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance – purified the bodies and minds of more than 100 million practitioners. The amazing effect of the practice for healing and fitness was witnessed in countless cases; moreover, some are considered miracles in the medical world.
Below are some of these stories, which feature several centenarians who had suffered from stubborn and terminal illnesses. But thanks to Falun Dafa, they now enjoy good health, both physically and spiritually.
Falun Dafa is a genuine practice of the Buddha school and a cultivation of both mind and body. Practitioners follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, while practicing five sets of simple and elegant exercises. The practice can bring practitioners good health, elevate their morality, open their wisdom, and help them gain insights into the mysteries of life and the universe.
As early as 1998, China’s medical community had conducted five investigations on Falun Gong practitioners. Medical researchers also made similar health investigations. The results show that Falun Gong practitioners' health recovery rate was as high as 98%.
The Secret of a Grandmother's Longevity
On January 6, 2017, more than 100 friends and relatives gathered together to celebrate the 100th birthday of a grandmother. Her grandson and granddaughter-in-law came too, along with her great-granddaughter. The grandson placed a hand-made clay sculpture of the grandmother on the altar. Friends and relatives used their cell phones to take photos, and everyone praised the grandson for his skill, as although he had never learned sculpture, he was able to make such a detailed clay statue.
“Falun Gong can really open one's wisdom,” they said.
The Grandmother's Tough Life Experience
The grandmother had experienced much in her long lifetime. This birthday was celebrated in the old house where she had been living for years. It was originally made of wood, but now the wood floor was no longer there. The house was renovated to have a cement floor and a plastic ceiling.
The old house nonetheless made her recall her past miserable experiences during the Chinese Communist Party's many political movements.
The grandmother and her husband worked very diligently when they were young. They owned several acres of farmland. During the off-season, they made sweet candies to sell, and grandma weaved cloth and did the housework at home. All in all, they lived a pretty good life.
However, in 1949, everything changed when the CCP came. The grandparents were classified as “wealthy farmers” and were treated by the CCP as undesirables – landlords, wealthy people, anti-socialists, or bad people. The whole family was driven out of their own home, and all their belongings were seized by the Party.
They had to dig up the soil, build walls, and set up straw roofing to make a house. Since then, they lived in this small, damp, earthen room, while their original brick and tile house was confiscated and became the office of the local People’s Commune.
1960 brought with it the Great Leap Forward, and the grandmother could only watch as many villagers starved one after another. There were hardly enough coffins for those that died, so the village officials had some villagers pry up the grandmother's wood floors and take them away. However, ever more people passed away. The officials had villagers pry open the wood walls inside the grandmother's house until only 34 pieces of wood were holding the house up.
At the time, there was an old man surnamed Zhang who had moved there from another region. One morning, he confessed to the grandma with a trembling voice, “A girl in the village just died. I really wanted to eat her, but I had no pot or stove where I could cook her. I am really starving.”
By evening, the old man had starved to death, another corpse sprawled on the roadside.
As more and more villagers were passing away, the village government speaker kept broadcasting messages – “The People's Commune is good! Socialism is good.”
The grandparents and the other undesirables were forced to do slavish work every day. They were often forced to wear dunce caps and tour around the village. At the end of the tour, they were forced to kneel down on sharp stones in front of the village stage, where they were criticized in public.
The grandmother was in such pain and almost fainted away, but she tolerated it and held back her tears, lest they hold her down and lash out at her even more. By end of the day, she crawled back home and cried in secret. Day after day, year after year, the grandmother's eyes gradually wore down from all the crying. A mere breeze would irritate her eyes and make her shed tears. Her health was getting worse.
In 1997, her grandson and granddaughter-in-law started practicing Falun Gong. Two months later, all the couple's illnesses and pains were gone. From this, they fully witnessed the supernormality and wonder of Falun Dafa, and decided to follow Master Li and the Dafa principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. For a while, the couple lived in peaceful contentment.
When Jiang Zemin started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, the grandson and granddaughter-in-law refused to give up their belief. As a result, their home was ransacked and they were arrested and taken to a brainwashing center. The local 610 Office officials shouted to them, “You can engage in prostitution, you can gamble, but you are not allowed to practice Falun Gong or learn the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.”
The grandson was brought up by the grandmother. Having thought that perhaps the Party had finally quieted down, the arrest of her grandson brought back unpleasant memories. She once again began crying daily.
At the age of 88, a blood vessel in one of her eyes burst. The doctor didn't give her any medical treatment and prescribed only a painkiller.
The grandmother felt hopeless. She decided to go home and drink pesticide, as she just couldn't tolerate the pain any longer. Fortunately, her granddaughter-in-law immediately stopped her.
When the grandson arrived home and heard about the incident, he advised the grandma to recite “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” He also played the audio recordings of Master Li's Fa lectures for her. As the grandma listened to the lectures, a miraculous thing happened. All of the grandma's pain suddenly vanished and her eye recovered.
Afterwards, the centenarian never got sick. Both her eyes and ears are still working well, and her cheeks look rosy. Not only could she take care of herself, but she also could help do some housework.
Celebrating 100th Birthday and Expressing Gratitude to Falun Dafa
Relatives and friends at the party constantly congratulated the grandmother and wished her well. By way of thanks, she told them, “Keep in mind, Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
The three-year-old great granddaughter also lifted her milk bottle and said, “Happy birthday, my ancestor!”
The grandma smiled and asked the girl to read the nine words. The great granddaughter responded immediately, “I know it. Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good! Master is good!”
Everyone at the party laughed heartily.
Her friends and relatives asked the grandmother to tell them the secret of her longevity. The grandma told them kindly, “Just recite 'Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!' every day, and you will secure safety and achieve the same health and longevity as what I am having now.”
Many relatives and friends asked the grandson to write down the nine words on paper so that they could keep them in mind and continue reciting them upon returning home. Some even checked up on each other to make sure they had memorized the words.
The sound of firecrackers, fireworks, and laughter brought much joy to the small village.
