Additional Persecution News from China – November 3, 2018 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 15 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 were illegally arrested.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yang Wenzhong Detained

Mr. Yang Wenzhong from Dongning Village was arrested by officers from the Zhoujia Town Police Station in the Shuangcheng District on the evening of October 30, 2018. They confiscated his Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong's founder. Mr. Yang is being held at the Yaziquan Detention Center for 10 days.

2. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Xiuying Arrested

Ms. Li Xiuying was arrested on October 25, 2018. Her whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Gao Xiaoming Detained

Mr. Gao Xiaoming was arrested at the checkpoint in the Jinzhou Railroad Station by Railroad Police Station officers on the morning of October 15, 2018, after they found currency bills with Falun Gong information written on them in his bag. He was detained for 15 days.

4. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Hua Yanru Detained

Ms. Hua Yanru was arrested by officers from the Binhaixin District Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of November 11, 2018. Her notebook computer and other personal items were confiscated. She is being held at the Jinzhou City Women's Detention Center.

5. [Beijing] Mr. Li Zhenge Placed on Trial

Mr. Li Zhenge was tried in the Houshan Court of the Haidian District Court on the morning of November 1, 2018.

6. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Yongjie Arrested

Mr. Xu Yongjie of Siyuantou Village, Muyudian Town, was arrested at home at noon on September 31, 2018.

7. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Yanyan Sentenced to Two Years in Prison

Ms. Xu Yanyan was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan on November 2, 2018. Her computer and printer were confiscated.

8. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Yanmei and Ms. Sun Lianmei Detained

Ms. Xu Yanmei and Ms. Sun Lianmei, both from Tanjiazhuang Village, Lubiao Town, were arrested by Lubiao Police Station officers when they were talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong on the morning of October 31, 2018. The police confiscated their Falun Gong books, photos of Falun Gong's founder, and other personal items. The women are being held in the Zhucheng Detention Center for 10 days.

9. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qu Zhenting Detained

Ms. Qu Zhenting from Qujia Village, Zhuyou Town, was arrested Xiyou Town Police Station officers when she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Guoxi Town Open Market on the morning of November 1, 2018. She was taken to the Laizhou City Detention Center.

10. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Sun Xuezhi and Parents Arrested

Ms. Sun Xuezhi was arrested when she was handing out U-Drives with Falun Gong information in mid-May, 2018. She was later formally arrested.

Ms. Sun's father is a Falun Gong practitioner in his 80s. Her mother, Ms. Liu Shuying, is 79. They disappeared three months ago. Their whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Bazhong City, Sichuan Province] Ten Practitioners Face Trial

The Bazhou District Court will place the following practitioners on trial: Mr. Zhang Minglang, Mr. Yue Yingchong, Ms. Zhou Lihua, Mr. Dai Wanyi, Mr. Zhang Xinwei, Mr. Yang Jiashun, Mr. Kang Zhunliu, Ms. Chen Guoqiong, Mr. Zhu Tiangui, and Ms. Sun Rong.

12. [Suibin County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. You Jinying Faces Indictment

Ms. You Jinying is facing indictment for her faith in Falun Gong after she was issued a formal arrest warrant.

The 45-year-old woman was arrested in June 2018 and is being held in the Hegang City Detention Center, the same place where she was detained and tortured following her arrest in 2012.

13. [Morin Dawa, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Li Jiucheng Transferred to Prison

Mr. Li Jiucheng, 55, was detained for more than a year in the Arun and Morin Dawa detention centers. He was recently transferred to Baoanzhao Prison.

Mr. Li was taken to Chengjisihan Prison in the last ten days of October 2018. The prison did not accept him because no Falun Gong practitioner was detained in the prison. Mr. Li was taken back to the Morin Dawa Detention Center.

Mr. Li’s mother and younger brother went to visit him on the morning of October 29, 2018. Three days later, they were notified that Mr. Li had been taken to Baoanzhao Prison.

14. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zheng Jinping Detained in Prison

Ms. Zheng Jinping from the Jiguan District was arrested by officers from the Jidong County Police Department on August 30, 2017. She was sentenced to four years and four months in prison by the Jidong Court.

Ms. Zheng was transferred to Heilongjiang Women’s Prison on May 15, 2018. The results of her physical exam indicated high blood pressure and there were dark spots on her chest. She was examined again two days after she arrived at the prison. This time she had high blood pressure, a urinary tract infection, and nodal tachycardia. However, the prison still accepted her.

Her son was not allowed to visit her until May 29, 2018.

15. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Yujie’s Arrest Approved

Ms. Zhang Yujie was arrested by domestic security officers when she was talking to people about Falun Gong on September 21, 2018. She was taken to a detention center, and her home was ransacked.

Ms. Zhang’s case has been submitted to the Yushu Procuratorate, which approved the arrest on October 6.

16. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Transferred to Prison

Mr. Zhao Hua, Ms. Zhai Li, Mr. Zhang Deshen from Fuxin City, and Mr. Wang Hongfeng from Shenyang City have been transferred to prison. Mr. Zhao was taken to Dongling Prison in Shenyang; Ms. Zhai, to Liaoning Women’s Prison; and Mr. Wang, to Dabei Prison in Shenyang. Mr. Zhang’s whereabouts are unknown.

It was said that Mr. Wang was sentenced to six years and Mr. Zhao was sentenced to four years. They have appealed to the Chaoyang Intermediate Court. Mr. Hao was sentenced to three years and Mr. Zhang, to five years.
