(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Yufang from Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, was arrested by officers from the Dayoufang Police Station on September 11, 2018, while distributing Falun Gong-related materials. She was taken to the Harbin City Detention Center early on the morning of September 12.
Ms. Li's attorney visited her on September 18 and was notified that Ms. Li's case had been already transferred to the local procuratorate.
A group of police, including four Domestic Security officers from Daowai District led by Li Bing and two officers from the Daokoujie Police Station, ransacked Ms. Li's home on the morning of October 10, 2018.
The officers verbally attacked Ms. Li's nearly 80-year-old husband when he asked them when his wife would be released. Her husband was so distraught that he cried and needed to be comforted by his daughter.
Ms. Li's daughter told the police how her mother had benefited physically and mentally from Falun Gong. She told them that Ms. Li used to have a life-threatening illness that could not be cured. The illness disappeared after she practiced Falun Gong. She said, “Our entire family supports my mom's practice of Falun Gong. Falun Gong saved my mom's life.”
Officer Li Bing ordered Ms. Li's daughter to sign the search warrant, which she refused to do. He recorded on the warrant that Ms. Li's family refused to sign the document.
When Ms. Li's attorney visited her again on the afternoon of October 11, Ms. Li told him that she was under a lot of pressure and was fearful because the guards and other detainees mistreated her and slandered her by accusing her of stealing things. They also forced her to take undisclosed medications.
Despite having been arrested weeks before, Ms. Li was still wearing the thin clothing she was wearing when she was arrested. She asked the attorney many times to ask her family to send her warmer clothing because it was cold in the detention center. However, over ten days after the clothes were brought to the center, the guards refused to deliver the clothes to Ms. Li.
