(Minghui.org) Since the onset of the persecution in July 1999, many Falun Gong practitioners have been imprisoned in Hefei Women's Prison. These practitioners have suffered various types of torture. The prison's 2nd and 22nd divisions focus on brainwashing.
The following practitioners are detained in the 2nd division: Ms. Tang Jialing, Ms. Jiang Yunchang, Ms. Liu Xilan and Ms. Zhao Shunu.
Mr. Li Dongmei and Ms. Liang Huaiyuan are detained at Hefei prison, and more is known about their situations than the others.
Ms. Li Dongmei Tortured
Ms. Li Dongmei was arrested in September 2013 and sentenced to 10 years in prison. She is being detained in the sixth division.
The inmates brutally beat her on March 12, 2017, for shouting “Falun Dafa is good” during lunch. The beatings resulted in her face being was swollen.
When refusing to cooperate during brainwashing sessions, she was tortured. She was denied restroom use and not provided any meals and water. She was also forced to stand up and squat during the entire day.
Ms. Liang Huaiuan Stripped Down to Underwear
Ms. Liang Huaiyuan, in her 70's, is a retired engineer. She was arrested in February, 2016. She was stripped down to her underwear. Then, she was tied to a small chair for doing the Falun Gong exercises.
She is being detained in the team for the elderly and the handicapped. She had to be hospitalized for high blood pressure.
During the past 18 years, Ms. Liang had been repeatedly arrested and detained. She was also sentenced to forced labor and injected with unknown drugs that caused her to lose consciousness.
