California: People Learn about Falun Dafa at the Woodland Tomato Festival
(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners had a booth at the annual Woodland Tomato Festival in Yolo County on August 12, 2017. Located in Sacramento, not far from the state capitol, it is a relatively rural agricultural region and well known for its tomato production.
As the peak of summer draws to a close, people were relaxed and ready to taste a variety of tomatoes and enjoy diverse activities. Many were glad to see Falun Dafa practitioners and stopped at the booth for information. Some were interested in learning the meditation and wanted to learn it. Upon hearing the exercises were easy to learn with free materials for downloading on the internet, they seemed happy with the opportunity.
“The principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance are very good, because they are important for all of us,” said Catholic Maria, “Unfortunately, there are too few people following these principles.”
Julissa and her two daughters live close to the event. Having learned the exercises from the internet, she hoped to meet practitioners to correct her movements. She talked with a practitioner, left her contact information, and left. After a while, she came back. “I think it is better to learn it now,” she said. Both Julissa and her two daughters learned the exercises from beginning to end.
Many people were aware of the human rights violations in China, but they were nonetheless surprised to hear about the brutal persecution against practitioners, including forced organ harvesting of Falun Dafa practitioners for profit. “This [the suppression] is horrible and it should not continue,” said passerby Robin.
