Falun Gong Practitioner in Jiangsu Sentenced to 5 Years
(Minghui.org) A Suining County resident has been transferred to prison after a local intermediate court rejected his appeal of a 5-year prison sentence for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
The local police raided Mr. Wang Xingfei’s home on May 5, 2015 in an attempt to arrest him. As he was not home, they took away his son instead. When Mr. Wang called the police upon returning home later that day, he was told to turn himself in in exchange for his son’s release.
Mr. Wang went and was soon taken to Suining County Detention Center. He was tried on November 23, 2015 and sentenced to five years in prison on January 5, 2017.
He filed an appeal, but Xuzhou City Intermediate Court ruled to uphold the original verdict. He is now held at Hongzehu Prison in Sihong County.
