May 13 – World Falun Dafa Day in Latvia
(Minghui.org) In celebration of World Falun Dafa Day, on May 13, 2017, citizens of Latvia and its guests had the opportunity to watch Falun Dafa activities in Riga - in a park between the University of Latvia and Latvian National Opera.
May 13 is a sacred day, and this year it marks the 25th anniversary of this ancient Chinese mind and body cultivation practice’s introduction to the public by Master Li Hongzhi.
During the event, people had a chance to view a photo exhibit of Falun Dafa activities around the world, watch or learn the exercises, as well as learn more about the practice and its benefits.
A woman who stopped to learn more said that her daughter lives in Hong Kong, but she had never heard about the persecution of Falun Dafa. A practitioner explained to her that Hong Kong is one of the autonomous regions, which is under the “one country, two systems” policy. Therefore people there are free to practice Falun Dafa, and they are not subjected to persecution as in mainland China, where every day Falun Dafa practitioners are persecuted and even killed for their organs. The woman condemned the persecution and thanked the practitioners for their efforts.
A couple who came from the United Kingdom said that they were watching the exercise demonstration for a while from the other side of the walkway. Eventually, they decided to come closer and learn more. When they learned that Falun Dafa classes are also held in the UK, and are free, the couple was very grateful and said that everyone needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
