New York: Multiple Counties, Cities, and Towns Issue Proclamations and Certificate of Congratulations for World Falun Dafa Day
(Minghui.org) May 13, 2017 marks the 18th World Falun Dafa Day and the 25th anniversary of Falun Dafa's introduction to the public. Multiple counties, cities and towns in New York state have issued proclamations, citations, and certificates to celebrate the special occasion, commend the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and appreciate the contributions of Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) practitioners to local communities.
Nassau County executive Edward P. Mangano proclaimed May 13, 2017, as World Falun Dafa Day in the county, in recognition and appreciation of the practitioners' “dedicated and exemplary service to the community.”
County executive Steven Bellone of Suffolk County commended the principles of Falun Dafa, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and recognized May 13, 2017, as World Falun Dafa Day in the county.
Supervisor Edward P. Romaine of the town of Brookhaven acknowledged the contributions Mr. Li Hongzhi has made by introducing Falun Dafa to the public in 1992. He, on behalf of Brookhaven's 500,000 residents, take pride in proclaiming May 13, 2017, as Falun Dafa Day in the town.
Supervisor Patrick R. Vecchio of the town of Smithtown applauded the good works of Falun Dafa and strongly opposed the persecution of practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party. He proclaimed May 13, 2017, as World Falun Dafa Day in the town.
