(Minghui.org) Things have gone well for me since I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1998, even though no one, me included, was optimistic.

I would like to share a story about our harvest one year and how everything was resolved when I followed Falun Dafa's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be a better person.

In the winter of 2004, my family and two others took on a contract to plant soybeans and other crops in a 108-shang (a land measurement) field.

We had a lot of snow that winter. When spring came, puddles covered the uneven ground. Because the ground was very wet, many families that raised cattle and sheep let their animals stand in our relatively dry field, which packed the soil so hard that there were many places where seeds couldn’t be sown.

The hard-packed soil affected about 10 shang of our land. I never argued with the cattle and sheep owners however, as I am a practitioner who cultivates Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Master said:

“As practitioners, you will suddenly come across conflicts. What should you do? You should always maintain a compassionate and calm heart. Then, when you run into a problem, you will be able to do well because it gives you some room as a buffer. You should always be benevolent and kind to others and consider others when doing anything. Whenever you encounter a problem, you should first consider whether others can put up with this matter or if it will hurt anyone. In doing so, there will not be any problems. Therefore, in cultivation you should follow a higher and higher standard for yourself.” (Zhuan Falun)

I live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be a better person, and saw that it was not easy for everyone to make a living, so I let it go.

When the land was distributed, I got 58 shang, one family got 30, and the other got 20 shang. It was all basically the same land but some areas were better than others. Nobody wanted a bad plot of land.

Because I understand the Fa principles and follow Dafa's requirements in all I do, I am tolerant of others and put myself in their shoes. I told the other two families to choose their plots of land first and that I would take whatever was left, which, not surprisingly, turned out to be mostly where the animals had made the soil so hard.

I planted the seeds in time, and then rain started to pour down. It had never before rained like that in the summer! The rain softened the soil that the animals had packed down, and the crops grew. When it was harvest time, the yield from my land was more than double that of my neighbor's.

The neighbors knew that I practiced Falun Dafa and said with envy, “Your family has a lot of good fortune.”

They like working with me, which gives me a chance to tell them the wonders of Dafa. The majority of the villagers have quit the Chinese Communist Party and its youth organizations.

Even though Falun Dafa is persecuted here, I continue to believe in Master and the wonderfulness of Dafa. Because Falun Dafa gave me a new life, I have never stopped practicing.
