(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Yulan from Bairin Left Banner, Inner Mongolia was tried on March 3, 2017 for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.

Her lawyer entered a not guilty plea for her. He argued that his client should never have been prosecuted for exercising her constitutional right to freedom of belief, as no law in China criminalizes Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang said Falun Gong returned her to health when asked by her lawyer to explain why she’d never given up her belief.

The judge stopped the lawyer and scolded him for asking questions irrelevant to the case. The lawyer fought for his right to represent his client in court, but even before he finished his argument, the judge rapped his gavel to adjourn the session.

Several people with unknown identities surrounded the lawyer afterwards and kept threatening him.
