(Minghui.org) A Langfang City resident was recently sentenced to three years in prison for disseminating information about Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Mr. He Qing was seized from his home on November 16, 2015. Police also confiscated Falun Gong informational materials, two computers, and one printer.
Mr. He was released on bail four days later, after a required medical examination showed he was in poor health. The local police, procuratorate and other government agencies, though, kept harassing Mr. He at home.
About a dozen officers descended on Mr. He’s home on January 11, 2017 and forcibly took him to the Guangyang District Court to face trial. He defended his constitutional right to freedom of belief, as no law in China criminalizes Falun Gong.
The judge ordered a second court hearing on February 15 and sentenced Mr. He to three years without giving him an opportunity to defend himself.
Mr. He refused to sign the verdict.
