Shen Yun Fills Theaters Across North America During Chinese New Year
(Minghui.org) From the end of January to the beginning of February, Shen Yun Performing Arts performed to sold-out houses all over the Unites States and Canada, including Texas, California, Florida, Rhode Island, and Vancouver. Some theaters had to add extra seats to meet the demand.
Matinee performance by Shen Yun's World Company at the AT&T Performing Arts Center-Winspear Opera House in Dallas, Texas, on January 28, 2017. Seats on the fifth floor that were originally not on sale were added to meet the demand.
“Broke the Record for the Theatre”
“It’s unique, so vibrant and rich and wonderful,” said Sandra Gajic, director of civic theatres for the City of Vancouver.
“It definitely broke the record for the theater,” she said, commenting on the sold-out shows from Sunday to Tuesday.
“It’s a performance that brings such wealth and a rare level of artistry to our city here in Vancouver.”
“A Mystical Experience”
“A mystical experience,” said actress and model Alyssa Alook. “It really moves you in so many ways.
“It ignites our heart to look into something much deeper in some way, to put some goodness out in some way, to [tell] some of these beautiful stories of love, of god, to give people that hope again.”
“Pleasing to the Eye”
“It’s pleasing to the eye, very comfortable to watch,” said software manager Toni Ray.
“I love their fluid movements. It’s just so mesmerizing. I really enjoyed watching it,” she added.
“Very entertaining...Exciting,” said Traci Bernard, the president of Texas Resources in Southlake Hospital.
“Really neat.... The costumes are beautiful. The dancers are amazing.”
“A Tremendous Love”
“It was spectacular...I loved every minute of it,” said Graceanne Bowe, the senior director of SAP product and market research.
“There seems to be, on the part of the performers and the narrators, just a tremendous love of doing this,” she marveled.
Mr. Bowe also shared his feelings on the vocal performances, “Living toward a higher purpose was something that came through. Everything is very symbolic. Everything means something.”
“Help[ing] Us Get Our Dignity Back”
“(Shen Yun) can help us get our dignity back,” said Yu Feng, an audience member who flew from China to see the performance in St. Petersburg on Chinese New Year's Eve.
“Shen Yun's live orchestra, dancing, backdrop, and everything were incomparable. I started to cry from the very beginning,” Mr. Yu said.
“If Shen Yun goes to China one day, I'll be willing to give my help!” he said.
Shen Yun will continue its North America tour with upcoming performances in Kansas City, Missouri, February 10–12; Venice, Florida, February 10–12; and Chicago, Illinois, February 11–19. For more information on tickets and dates, please visit http://shenyun.com.
