Additional Persecution News from China – December 17, 2017 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 14 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 6 were illegally arrested.

1. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Huang Liping and Ms. Ding Shumei Officially Arrested

Ms. Huang Liping and Ms. Ding Shumei, both in their 50s, were arrested in the High-tech Zone on October 30, 2017. They have now been officially arrested.

2. [Guilin City, Guangxi Autonomous Region] Five Practitioners Officially Arrested

Ms. Pan Mengfen, Ms. Luo Guifen, Ms. Huang Muqing, Ms. Zeng Fengling, and Ms. Yao Dehuan from Lipu County were officially arrested by the Lipu Procuratorate on November 28, 2017.

3. [Beijing] Mr. Jiang Liyu Faces Trial

Mr. Jiang Liyu will be tried at the Shijingshan District No. 6 Court on the morning of January 3, 2018.

4. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Zuo Yali was arrested and held in the Shijingshan Detention Center. She was taken to the Public Security Hospital one month ago.

Ms. Sun Shumei was sentenced to prison.

Ms. Ma Haifang was given an 18-month prison term.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Huang Dingyi and Mr. Zhu Guocai Detained

Mr. Huang Dingyi and Mr. Zhu Guocai from Jinyuan Town, Dayi County, were arrested by officers from the Jinyuan Town Police Station on the morning of December 15, 2017. The officers ransacked their homes and confiscated all their Falun Gong books. Both practitioners were detained for 15 days.

6. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Han Shunxing and Ms. Liu Aifang Arrested

Mr. Han Shunxing and Ms. Liu Aifang from Yanshi City were reported for talking to people about Falun Gong and handing out calendars on the afternoon of December 15, 2017. They were arrested by officers from the Shanhua Township Police Station. Ms. Liu returned home after 2 a.m. that night. Mr. Han was taken to a detention center.

7. [Tianjin] Mr. Zhang Jian Given a Five-Year Prison Term

Mr. Zhang Jian from Hebei District was given a five-year prison term by the Hebei District Court in 2017. He appealed the conviction. The court upheld the original verdict without holding a hearing. He was taken to the Binhai Prison on December 4, 2017.

8. [Xiangfan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Mao Xudong Detained

Mr. Mao Xudong was arrested at home by plainclothes officers on the evening of December 14, 2017. He is being held in the Fancheng District No. 2 Detention Center.

9. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Deng Jianguo Arrested

Mr. Deng Jianguo was arrested at home by Rao Jiangtao, a residential police officer from the Xierlu Police Station, which in charge of the Xiangyang Residential Community, on December 15, 2017. The officer confiscated books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Mr. Deng was released the following day.

10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Xiuzhi Detained

Ms. Wang Xiuzhi from Yushu City was arrested and taken to the Yushu City Detention Center by officers from the Xinli Town Police Station on the morning of December 14, 2017.

11. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Shen Yuanxiu Detained

Ms. Shen Yuanxiu was arrested by officers from the Tieshan Police Department on the morning of December 14, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was held in the Xiaopu Detention Center.
