Additional Persecution News from China – November 20, 2017 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 14 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 9 were illegally arrested.

1. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Ding Yufang Given a One-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Ms. Ding Yufang was given a one-and-a-half-year prison term on November 7, 2017.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Migui Remains in Custody

Ms. Zhang Migui, 65, from the Jing'anzhuang area, Xiangheyuan Neighborhood, Chaoyang District, was arrested by officers from the Tuanjiehu Police Station on September 14, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked that day. She has been held in the Chaoyang Detention Center.

3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhong Nailan Detained

Ms. Zhong Nailan, 60, was arrested near her home by officers who were staked out there at the end of October 2017. She was detained for five days.

4. [Qian'an County, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Dong Mei, Ms. Yu Shuyuan, and Ms. Yin Guifang were arrested at home a few days ago.

5. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhao Ximin Detained

Mr. Zhao Ximin from Huzhu Village, Wukeshu Town, was arrested on November 16, 2017. He was detained for five days.

6. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Shiheng and Wife Arrested

Mr. Zhao Shiheng and his wife from Zujia Village, Gucheng Neighborhood, were arrested by officers from the Luocheng Police Station on November 17, 2017. His wife was brought back home by their son that evening. Mr. Zhao remains in custody at the police station.

7. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Shuying Detained

Ms. Ma Shuying, with leg disability, from Zhoujia Village, Ligezhuang Town, was arrested and taken to the Pudong Detention Center by officers from the Ligezhuang Town Police Station on November 17, 2017.

8. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Detained

Ms. Xu, 72, from Sunshou Village, Sunshou Town, was arrested at home on November 6, 2017. She was taken to the Laixi Detention Center.

9. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Four practitioners were sentenced to prison by Huang Jianhui, a judge with the Jinping District Court on November 10, 2017. Mr. Zheng Minghui was given a five-year prison term, Mr. Xu Junbiao a four-year, Ms. Peng Peishan a two-year, and Ms. Qi Xiumei a two-year prison term. The four practitioners have appealed.

10. [Huaibin County, Henan Province] Ms. Ren Xulan and Ms. Sun Shufang Arrested

Ms. Ren Xulan and Ms. Sun Shufang were recently arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing calendars in a township farmers market. They were later taken to the Domestic Security Division. Their whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Wugang City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Ronghua Taken to Prison

Ms. Wang Ronghua was recently arrested by the Wugang City police. The Wugang City Court sentenced her to prison without notifying her family. Ms. Wang was taken to the Henan Women's Prison.

12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. You Li Detained

Officers from the East Lake Ecological Tourism Scenic Area Police Station and firemen in five firetrucks broke into Ms. You Li's home and ransacked it on the afternoon of November 17, 2017. The officers confiscated some personal belongings. Ms. You and her daughter were arrested. The daughter was released that evening. Ms. You was taken to the Erzhigou Detention Center, Dongxihu District.

13. [Hu County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Wan Xiaohui and Sister Ms. Wan Xiaoyan Sentenced to Prison

Two sisters were tried at the Hu County Court on March 17, 2017. They were recently sentenced to prison. Ms. Wan Xiaohui was given a four-year prison term, and her sister Ms. Wan Xiaoyan a three-year prison term.
