Additional Persecution News from China – October 12, 2017 (23 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 13 provinces. According to this report, 9 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 38 were illegally arrested.

1. [Linfen City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Lu Mingfang Detained

Officers from the Xiangfen County Police Department and the Xiangling Town Police Station broke into Ms. Lu Mingfang's home in Zhonghezhuang Village and arrested her on October 7, 2017. The officers confiscated her computer.

Ms. Lu was detained for 15 days.

2. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yan Hailing and Her Husband Mr. Xue Zhenyou Detained

Ms. Yan Hailing from Hexi Village, Zhuwu Town, Haiyang City, was arrested when her ID was checked on a bus to Qingdao City on October 6, 2017.

Officers from the Haiyang 610 Office went to her home and ransacked it. They arrested her husband Mr. Xue Zhenyou and took him to Yantai City. He was released on October 10.

Ms. Yan remains in detention.

3. [Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Qin Yanqiu Arrested

Ms. Qin Yanqiu was arrested by officers from the Taicang 610 Office on October 1, 2017.

4. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Gu Chunhua Arrested

Ms. Gu Chunhua was arrested at her home on October 9, 2017.

5. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Hao Yueshan and Her Father Mr. Hao Fukui Detained

Ms. Hao Yueshan and her father Mr. Hao Fukui from the Dalian Development Zone were arrested by officers from the Dongjiagou Police Station on the afternoon of October 8, 2017. The officers ransacked their home and confiscated Falun Gong books, a computer, and paper currency with Falun Gong information printed on them.

Ms. Hao is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center. Mr. Hao is being held in the Daheishan Detention Center.

6. [Sanmenxia City, Henan Province] Mr. Chen Shaomin and His Brother Mr. Chen Xiaomin Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Chen Shaomin and his brother Mr. Chen Xiaomin have been held in the Sanmenxia Detention Center since June 2016. Both practitioners were sentenced to prison in July 2017.

7. [Tianzhu County, Guizhou Province] Ms. Yang Jutao Detained

Ms. Yang Jutao was arrested on October 9, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was detained for 15 days.

8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Huang Yufeng Detained

Ms. Huang Yufeng was recently arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Guqintai area of Hanyang District. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Huang was taken to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center.

9. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Shuzhi Arrested

Ms. Zhang Shuzhi and her family from the Guangxia Residential Community went to Mao'ershan Town, Harbin City, in early October 2017 to talk to people there about Falun Gong.

Ms. Zhang was arrested by officers from the Mao'ershan Police Department and the Guangxia Police Department on October 10, 2017.

10. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Huaihua City 610 Office and the National Security Division arrested several practitioners and ransacked their homes in a coordinated campaign.

The practitioners arrested are: Mr. Huang Yuanqiao, Ms. Yin Lanying, Mr. Wang Xuehong, Ms. Du Ziai, Ms. Tang Fangju, Ms. Lei Huamei, Ms. Qiu Mei, Ms. Wu Fangmei, Ms. Chen, Ms. Xiao, Mr. Yang Li, Ms. Liu Xiuqing, and Mr. Yang Xinyu.

Ms. Lei Huamei, Ms. Wu Fangmei, Ms. Yin Lanying, and Ms. Xiao are being held in the Huaihua Detention Center.

Ms. Qiu Mei, Ms. Liu Xiuqing, and Mr. Yang Xinyu returned home that day. The rest of the practitioners were taken to a lockup center.

11. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Shujun Under Surveillance

Ms. Liu Shujun's home was ransacked by officers from the Xinhualu Police Station on October 9, 2017. The officers confiscated photos of, and books written by, the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Liu has been placed under police surveillance, and is followed when she goes out of her home.

12. [Baicheng City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Gao Dexin and Guo Jiasheng from the Baicheng City Police Department pried open Ms. Zhang Fengling's door and arrested Ms. Zhang, Ms. Chen Yumei, and Ms. Wang Hongyan on the afternoon of October 9, 2017. They confiscated computers and printers.

Ms. Zhang and Ms. Wang were taken to the Zhenlai Detention Center. Ms. Chen's whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Minghui Detained

Mr. Wang Minghui from Housandaogoutun, Erdaogou Village, Halahai Town, was arrested at his home by officers from the Halahai Town Police Station on the evening of October 10, 2017. He was interrogated and is being held in the Weizigou Detention Center, Changchun City.

14. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Xingge and Ms. Li Chenying Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Liu Xingge, 51, and Ms. Li Chenying, 67, from the Ganjingzi District were arrested by officers from the Qianguan Police Station, Dalianwan Town, on December 19, 2016.

Ms. Li was later sentenced to a two-year prison term by the Ganjingzi Court. Ms. Liu was sentenced to three years and two months in prison. Both practitioners were taken to the Liaoning Women's Prison in September 2017.

15. [Beihai City, Guangxi Province] Mr. Mo Yan Arrested

Mr. Mo Yan, 38, was arrested on November 25, 2005. He has not been heard from since.

16. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhou Haiyan, her mother, and another practitioner from the Xinyueli area Development Zone were arrested at their home by officers from the Huanghailu Police Station on October 8, 2017.

The three practitioners were released that afternoon.

17. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Sun Yezhen Sentenced to a One-Year Prison Term

Ms. Sun Yezhen was arrested by officers from the Changhong Police Station on May 5, 2017, for posting Falun Gong materials. She was taken to a detention center, and sentenced to a one-year prison term on September 22, 2017.

Ms. Sun is incarcerated in the Nanchang Prison.

18. [Beijing] Mr. Sun Fuyi Transferred to Chadian Prison

Mr. Sun Fuyi was transferred to the Chadian Prison.

19. [Beijing] Mr. Ji Fengqin and His Wife Ms. Hao Xiang Arrested

Mr. Ji Fengqin and his wife Ms. Hao Xiang were arrested on the morning of October 11, 2017.

20. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Dongli, Ms. Guo Yurong, Mr. He Guirong, and Ms. Wang Yihong were arrested by the Shuangcheng District police on October 9, 2017.

21. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhi Jianxin Arrested

Mr. Zhi Jianxin was arrested by a residential police officer and officers from the Chengguan Domestic Security Division on the morning of October 11, 2017.

22. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Xiaofeng Detained

Mr. Liu Xiaofeng, 30, from Laiyuan County, was arrested by officers from the Laiyuan County Domestic Security Division on October 7, 2017. He is being held in the Laiyuan Detention Center.

23. [Hunchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Weixiu Detained

Ms. Wang Weixiu was arrested by officers from the police department and the Domestic Security Division on October 9, 2017. Four armed officers took video cameras with them and ransacked Ms.Wang's home at around 7:30 p.m.. They confiscated a handwritten copy of Zhuan Falun and New Year's paintings.

Ms. Wang is taken to a detention center for 15 days.
