(Minghui.org) I started to practice Falun Dafa in May 1998 and have been doing what I can to let people know about Dafa since July 1999, when Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), started the persecution of Falun Dafa.

Deciding to Sue Jiang

I read an article about suing Jiang Zemin in May 2015, and my first thought was that only Dafa practitioners who had been persecuted should file criminal complaints. However, when the number of those who filed complaints increased, I realized that although I was not persecuted, I was still deprived of my freedom of belief, speech, and expression.

This was indeed an opportunity offered by Master, another chance for us to let more people know about Dafa, and another chance for us to do well on the path towards divinity.

Five practitioners in our Fa study group decided to file criminal complaints against Jiang. In making our decision, we went through a process of initially being fearful and hesitant to firmly stepping forward.

We cherished the opportunity to eliminate our attachments, such as fear, and improve in our cultivation.

Mail Being Held

After helping fellow practitioners print out their complaint letters, I sent mine to the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate in Beijing by registered mail.

I did not receive a delivery notification after waiting several days and found out that the complaint was still at the Beijing mail processing center.

After completing my mother’s complaint letter, I sent hers and another copy of my complaint to the Supreme People's Procuratorate in Beijing.

When I tracked the complaints three days later, I found that my complaint had been stopped at the Beijing mail processing center again, while my mother’s letter had been held at our local post office. Apparently, a large proportion of practitioners’ criminal complaint letters were held by the postal services.

I looked into other ways to send our complaint letters and found out that we could submit them via the Supreme People's Procuratorate website. I did so and received the delivery receipts shortly thereafter.

It was not accidental that our complaints were held at various locations, and I realized that we must clarify the facts to the people working there.

Tracing the Mail

I met with the director of the local mail processing center and asked to know why our mail was being held there.

The director took me to the sorting office. After checking, a staff member whispered to the director. The director then asked me about the mail.

“It was a criminal complaint from my mother to sue Jiang Zemin,” I responded. “My mother is over 80 years old. I helped her to prepare the complaint and mail it.”

The director was very surprised that I dared to sue Jiang.

I said, “The Constitution stipulates that citizens have the right to file charges against those in public office who violate the law.” I then told him about the physical and mental improvements my mother has enjoyed since she started practicing Falun Dafa.

The director agreed that there are no human rights in China and told me that higher authorities would not allow them to process this type of mail; they were to confiscate it.

When I asked which authority he was referring to, he said, “It’s not worth talking to them. They are part of National Security. Just tell your mother that the mail was delivered to keep her happy.”

As the director saw me off, he said, “Please don't visit the authorities. Take care of yourself.”

As I walked out of the building, I regretted that I did not clarify the facts more thoroughly, nor did I ask him to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. It was a gap in my cultivation that I should make up in the future.

Practitioners Must Be Diligent

My husband asked me to help our son study for his postgraduate entrance exam in August. My son started practicing Falun Dafa in 2008 but stopped when he went to university. He was not diligent in his cultivation and only read Master’s books and the exercises when his roommates were on holiday, so I took some leave from work to stay with him.My son and I moved into a rented apartment. I had a dream that evening that made me aware that my son had neglected his cultivation and was not walking on the path of a cultivator.

I told him about the dream and made it clear that I had not come to help him study for the entrance exam. I told him that, as practitioners, we are not attached to getting results but should instead focus on Fa study, sending forth righteous thoughts and saving people.

My son agreed that he didn't do well in cultivation and said that Master often reminded him to be more diligent. I opened Zhuan Falun, and we studied a lecture together. We then sent forth righteous thoughts before going to sleep.

Our life became very orderly. As soon as we got up, we sent righteous thoughts and read experience sharing articles on the Minghui website. When my son was in class, I studied Master’s Fa teachings, send righteous thoughts, and clarified the facts about Dafa over the phone. We read Zhuan Falun, did the exercises and sent righteous thoughts in the evening.

When the Minghui website published the editorial “Notice Regarding Suing Jiang.” I suggested that my son file a criminal complaint letter reporting Jiang's crimes, to which he agreed.

However, he got busy with his studies. I started writing the complaint letter for him, and he finished it that evening. We then sent the complaint via the Supreme People's Procuratorate website.

My son is now a postgraduate student. Although he is not at home, he has become a diligent practitioner and does the three things well.

After helping my son, I realized that, without a group Fa-study environment, practitioners can easily become lazy. There are many temptations in human society that can distract practitioners from their cultivation. We should wake them up and help them become more diligent again.
