Canada: Practitioners Showcase Falun Dafa at Health Expo in Nova Scotia

(Minghui.org) Practitioners from Nova Scotia, Canada took part in a wellness expo on September 16-17, 2017, at the Cunard Centre in downtown Halifax. Organizers of the event were familiar with Falun Dafa, and very supportive.

The organizers were aware of the persecution of Falun Dafa by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and felt it was important that more people be informed. They were also aware of the live organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience carried out by the CCP, and were supportive of practitioners petitioning for support from the Canadian government at the expo. They also said they were interested in supporting Falun Dafa at their future events.

After carefully positioning the practitioners where they would encounter as many people as possible, they suggested that the practitioners make use of an area away from the booth to engage with people and perform the exercises.

Many visitors to the expo, including other exhibitors, stopped to watch and learn more about the practice. Practitioners took the opportunity to discuss the ongoing persecution of Falun Dafa in China and how it relates to the harvesting of organs from prisoners of conscience. They also discussed the fact that Sun Qian, a Canadian citizen who has been unlawfully detained by the CCP for several months, has been tortured for practicing Falun Dafa.

Many people were eager to sign a petition calling on the Canadian government to take a stance against the organ harvesting issue, as well as another petition which calls on Prime Minister Trudeau to bring Sun Qian home. Many people also provided their contact information so that they could learn more about the practice.

One practitioner’s son enjoyed taking part in the expo by showing a few other children how to sit in the full lotus position. He also brought a Falun Dafa flyer and a paper lotus flower to another exhibitor when she offered him a sample of her product. He later led her to the Falun Dafa booth so she could talk with the practitioners.

Organizers have scheduled another expo for October, in Moncton, New Brunswick, and are looking forward to the opportunity to support Falun Dafa again.
