(Minghui.org) My cultivation state as a Falun Dafa practitioner was poor this year, but I seemed unable to push myself to be more diligent.
It seemed that many Dafa practitioners around me were tangled up in their own attachments, and their cultivation states were not good either. I sometimes wondered what Master thought of us.
I recently began studying the Fa and clarifying the facts with other practitioners, and feel that I've become more diligent as a result.
Judging Others
The new group of practitioners I met only reads the Dafa books, but they don't share their cultivation experiences. They chit chat before Fa study and don't sit in the lotus position when they read. Their understandings of the Fa principles are not clear, and they don't point out anything that is inappropriate to help each other correct themselves and improve. I thus developed a low opinion of them.
When talking to another practitioner about this group, she told me that two of the elderly practitioners have visited many households, and often help more than 20 people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations each week. These practitioners are retired and spend their time talking to people about the persecution and encouraging them to quit the Party.
How could these practitioners save so many sentient beings if they weren’t cultivating well? I was disappointed with myself for not seeing how diligent and righteous they actually were.
When I looked inward I realized that I was only seeing their shortcomings because I was blocked by my human notions. I didn't think that they were good at truth clarification work or did enough of it.
I always thought there were no diligent practitioners around me, but I soon realized that I was the one who was lagging behind.
From this experience, I learned to measure a cultivation state based on the Fa, and I eliminated my stubborn notions and developed stronger righteous thoughts.
Master said,
“Were it really to end now, you would all have regrets.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Epoch Times Meeting” from Teaching the Fa at the Conference X)
When I thought of Master's words, I could not help but weep. This was the first time that I truly understood how precious this opportunity is, of cultivating during the Fa-rectification period! And this opportunity is passing so quickly!
