Additional Persecution News from China – January 6, 2017 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 9 were illegally arrested.

1. [Longde County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Mr. Fan Guofu Given a Two-Year Prison Term

Mr. Fan Guofu, a manager at the Longde County Insurance Company, was arrested on December 18, 2015. He was tried at the Longde County Court on September 20, 2016. He was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 2,000 yuan on October 13.

2. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Hu Yugen Given a Four-Year Prison Term

Mr. Hu Yegen was sentenced to four years in prison by the Pengshan Court on December 29, 2016. The Meishan City Intermediate Court upheld the verdict from the first trial and fined him 5,000 yuan. Mr. Hu was sent to the Jiazhou Prison, Leshan area.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Song Shijuan Given a Three-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Ms. Song Shijuan, 57, from Ganjingzi District, was arrested and her home was ransacked on June 28, 2016. She was tried on November 8 at the Ganjingzi District Court. Her family learned in December 2016 that she was given a three-and-a-half-year prison term.

4. [Beijing] Mr. Sun Fuyi Given a Three-Year Prison Term

Mr. Sun Fuyi from Huairou District was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 3,000 yuan during the first trial by the Shunyi District Court on December 28, 2016.

5. [Yingtai City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Liu Baozhen Given a Three-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Ms. Liu Baozhen was arrested in August 2016 by officers from the Siqing Police Station, Yuehu District. She was tried and sentenced to three and a half years in prison on November 22, 2016 by the Yuehu District Court.

Ms. Wu Sumei was given a two-year-and-six-month prison term. Ms. Wu Suyue was given a one-year-and-six-month prison term. The Taizhou City Intermediate Court upheld the original verdicts on December 19, 2016. Both practitioners were taken to the Zhejiang Province Women's Prison on January 4, 2017.

7. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Tao Xizhen and Ms. Xu Changhong Taken to Wuhan Prison

Ms. Tao Xizhen and Ms. Xu Changhong from Wenquan District were sentenced to four years in prison and three years in prison respectively on December 27, 2016. They were taken to the Wuhan Prison.

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Li Wenfeng Detained

Ms. Li Wenfeng, in her 50s, from Hechuan area, was arrested and taken to the Hechuan Detention Center on the afternoon of December 29, 2016 for telling people about Falun Gong.

9. [Tianjin] Ms. Chen Wenyan and Daughter Detained

Ms. Chen Wenyan and her daughter from the Xiqing District were arrested at home by officers from the Liqizhuang Police Station on December 7, 2016. The officers confiscated 20 cell phones. The mother and daughter are held in the Xiqing District Detention Center.

10. [Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Jing in Critical Condition

Ms. Wang Jing is in critical condition due to persecution. She has been taken to the Qitaihe City Police Department's Hospital for nine days. Her blood pressure numbers are at 230/260 (systolic) and 200 (diastolic). She in the ICU.

11. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zheng Wei Taken to Dabei Prison

Mr. Zheng Wei was transferred from the Yongkou Detention Center to Dabei Prison, Shenyang City, on January 3, 2017.

12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Cai Arrested

Ms. Cai, in her 40s, from Wuchang District, was arrested on the morning of January 1, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhu Wenfan Given a Three-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Mr. Zhu Wenfan was arrested in March 2016. He was held in the Wulitun Detention Center. He was tried and sentenced to three and a half years in prison on December 19, 2016.

14. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hou Xiuying Arrested

Ms. Hou Xiuying from Xiejia Village, Gaoguzhuang Town was recently arrested by officers from the Gaoguzhuang Town Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong at a farmers market.

Ms. Wang Xuemei and Mr. Wang Zujing from Chang'an Town were arrested at Xindian Town on January 1, 2017.
