Additional Persecution News from China – December 29, 2016 (19 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 16 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 were illegally arrested.

1. [Linfen City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Guo Suling Arrested

Ms. Guo Suling was arrested at noon on December 27, 2016 for distributing Falun Gong materials in Dajiao Village, Jiang County.

2. [Shanghai] Mr. Wang Dongying Detained

Mr. Wang Dongying from the Baoshan District was summoned by the Rudong County Police Department on the morning of November 18, 2016. He was arrested and then taken to the Rudong County for residential surveillance. He is currently held in the Nantong City Detention Center.

3. [Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Ni Youai Detained

Ms. Ni Youai was arrested on December 17, 2016. She is held in the Xilin Detention Center.

4. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Dai Xiaoming Arrested

Mr. Dai Xiaoming, 36, was arrested by patrol officer from the Yongju Police Station in the Hongshan District on December 26, 2016. His Falun Gong books were confiscated.

5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Ye Jiugui from the Liangdaojie Neighborhood was arrested at home by local residential committee staff and officers from the local police station on December 18, 2016. All her Falun Gong books were confiscated. She was held in a detention center for five days.

Mr. Chen Deping and Ms. Wei Jinglian from the Wuchang District were arrested by officers who were staked out nearby on December 19, 2016, when they were going to a practitioner's home for group study.

Mr. Hu Xiaolin was arrested and taken to a detention center for five days on Deecember 19, 2016, for talking to people about Falun Gong.

6. [Lianshui County, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Ma Xuerong Given a Two-Year Prison Term

Mr. Ma Xuerong was sentenced to two years in prison in the Lianshui County Court on December 16, 2016.

7. [Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Zhang Liangfeng Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Mr. Zhang Liangfeng, a doctor at the Xinzhou Chinese Medicine Hospital, received his verdict, issued by the Xinfu District Court, at the Dingxiang Detention Center on December 21, 2016. He was given a five-year prison term.

8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Yan Detained for 33 Days

Ms. Jiang Yan, 51, from Dehui City was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on November 25, 2016. She has been detained for 33 days.

9. [Fengyang County, Anhui Province] Mr. Zheng Jiaxiang and Ms. Chen Nianchun Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Zheng Jiaxiang was sentenced to five years in prison by the Fengyang County Court. Ms. Chen Nianchun was sentenced to four years in prison. Both practitioners have appealed to the Chuzhou City Intermediate Court.

10. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yu Xiaoqing Given a Five-Year Prison Term

Ms. Yu Xiaoqing was arrested and her home was ransacked on May 6, 2016. She was held in the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center. She was sentenced to five years in prison. She was taken to the Heilongjiang Women's Prison.

11. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wei Chunrong Detained

Mr. Wei Chunrong from Heilongjiang Province was tried on April 22, 2016, and no verdict was pronounced in court. He remains detained in the Pudong Detention Center in Jimo City, Shandong Province.

12. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Sun Guojun and Mr. Guan Shiwen Detained

Mr. Sun Guojun and Mr. Guan Shiwen from Xiajiapu Town, Qingyuan County, were arrested by officers from the Xiajiapu Town Police Station on the morning of December 26, 2016, for talking to people about Falun Gong in Tianqiao Village. Both of their homes were ransacked. The practitioners are being held in the Dashagou Detention Center, Qingyuan County, for 10 days.

13. [Suizhong County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ren Guofen and Ms. Liu Lihua Arrested

Ms. Ren Guofen and Ms. Liu Lihua were arrested on December 28, 2016 for handing out desktop calendars containing Falun Gong information at the train station.

14. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xi Ruiying and Ms. Yang Jianhong Arrested

Ms. Xi Ruiying and Ms. Yang Jianhong from Hantuo Village, Zunhua City, were recently arrested by four officers from the Tuanpiaozhuang Police Station for handing out calendars at the Xiliu Village farmers market.

15. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Changqing and Brother Mr. Wang Changchun Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Changqing from Gaoxin District was given a two-year prison term. His older brother Mr. Wang Changchun was given a one-year and six-month prison sentence and fined 3,000 yuan.

16. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Lianhong and Ms. Lu Yuqing Taken to Tianjin Women's Prison

Ms. Wang Lianhong and Ms. Lu Yuqing were taken to the Tianjin Women's Prison on December 27, 2016.

Ms. Wang was given a three-year prison term by the Hongqiao District Court in August 2016. Ms. Lu was given a two-year-and-six-month prison term. Both practitioners have appealed to the Tianjin City Intermediate Court. The intermediate court, in November 2016, upheld the original verdict.

Both practitioners were arrested by officers from the Xiyuzhuangzi Police Station, Hongqiao District, on September 8, 2016. Both practitioners were held in the Hongqiao Police Department's Detention Center.

17. [Tai'an City Shandong Province] Ms. Tian Wenli Arrested

Ms. Tian Wenli, 46, from Xihu Village, Manzhuang Town, Daiyue District, was arrested by officers from the Manzhuang Police Station on December 28, 2016

18. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Mr. Yang Mingqing and Mr. Wu Shiye Arrested

Mr. Yang Mingqing and Mr. Wu Shiye were arrested on December 26, 2016 for distributing Falun Gong materials. Mr. Yang was taken to the Kunming City No. 1 Detention Center. Mr. Wu's whereabouts are unknown.

19. [Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Liu Yongjun and Ms. Ding Bailing Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Liu Yongjun and Ms. Ding Bailing were sentenced to prison. They appealed, but the Huai'an City Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict. Both practitioners have been held in the Hongze County Detention Center for two years.

Mr. Liu was sentenced to three years in prison on December 6, 2016. He was taken to the Hongzehu Prison. Ms. Ding was sentenced to two years in prison. She returned home on December 7.
