Additional Persecution News from China – December 25, 2016 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 10 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 5 were illegally arrested.

1. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Gong Yun Arrested

Ms. Gong Yun, a disabled practitioner from Mian County, was arrested and taken to the Chengxi Police Station on December 20, 2016, for posting informational stickers about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was interrogated and released that evening.

Three days later, she was harassed at home by local village officials, police officers from the Xinjiezi Police Station, and Mian County 610 Office.

2. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Mei Detained

Ms. Yu Mei was held in the Jinan City Detention Center.

3. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Ping Arrested

Ms. Li Ping was arrested by police officers from the Shuangshan No. 2 Police Station on December 11, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was given a three-day detention and taken to the Jinan City No. 3 Detention Center. However, the center refused to admit her given her poor physical condition. She was released that evening.

4. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Jin Xiaoqin Harassed

Ms. Jin Xiaoqin was harassed several times by officers from the Donggang Town Community Comprehensive Management Office in November and December 2016. The officer repeatedly demanded her to sign the three statements, in which a practitioner promises to renounce Falun Gong.

5. [Xiangyang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhu Dingmin Arrested

Ms. Zhu Dingmin was arrested on December 22, 2016.

6. [Linzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhang Fucui Harassed

Ms. Zhang Fucui received a phone call from the Zhenlin Police Station on December 21, 2016. The police, asked about her suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator, and demanded that she come to the police station. They threatened to come to her home if she refused.

7. [Shanghai] Ms. Chen Wei Detained

Ms. Chen Wei was arrested on December 16, 2016, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Xuhui District Detention Center.

8. [Renqiu City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Qingyu Sentenced

Personnel from the Renqiu City Court went to Ms. Zhang Qingyu's home on December 23, 2016. They informed her that she was sentenced to a two year prison term and demanded that she sign the verdict document.

9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Yongqing Sentenced

Mr. Wang Yongqing was sentenced to a five-year prison term by the Gaoxin District Court on December 10, 2016.

10. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Fengzhen and Ms. Chang Guifeng Detained

Ms. Zhu Fengzhen and Ms. Chang Guifeng were arrested on December 22, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were taken to the Wulitun Detention Center.

11. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Guo Zhenxiang, 80, was harassed at home by two officers from the Zhaoyuan City Domestic Security Division on December 21, 2016. The police ransacked her home without showing any identification (ID) and confiscated a computer, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings. The police questioned her about the source of the Falun Gong informational materials.

Ms. Guo and Ms. Kang Yanmei, 65, were arrested by officers from the Quanshan Police Station on December 16, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Kang is still held at Zhaoyuan Detention Center. The police ransacked her daughter's home. Ms. Guo has been released.

12. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Meiyan and Ms. Du Yingxia Detained

Ms. Gao Meiyan and Ms. Du Yingxia were arrested by the director from the Jianggezhuang Police Station on December 22, 2016. The two practitioners went to the station to talk to officers about the persecution of Falun Gong and to ask for the return of 5,000 yuan, extorted earlier from the practitioners. They were given 15 days detention and taken to Muping Detention Center.

13. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Changli Persecuted to Death

Ms. Wang Changli, 56, passed away on October 14, 2015, after suffering years of persecution.

Ms. Wang had been arrested three times for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. While being held at Hengshan Police Department, she was threatened, beaten, and forced to press her fingerprints on documents. As a result, she was terrified and developed high blood pressure. The detention center refused to admit her given her poor physical condition.

The police also ransacked her home several times and confiscated Falun Gong books. Ms. Wang's health deteriorated and she developed renal failure.
