Additional Persecution News from China – September 6, 2016 (27 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 36 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 were illegally arrested.

1. [Yujiang County, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Pan Shuicai Sentenced for Suing Jian Zemin

Mr. Pan Shuicai from Huangxi Town was arrested by officers from the Huangxi Town Police Station on November 10, 2015, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime, who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. He was taken to the Yujiang County Detention Center.

The Yujiang County Court notified Mr. Pan's family that he had been sentenced to three years in prison. He is now in Raozhou Prison, formerly Zhuhu Forced Labor Camp.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Rulan Tortured in Prison

Ms. Wang Rulan from the Shunyi District was arrested on April 16, 2015. She was sentenced to two years in prison by the Shunyi District Court in June 2016. She is being tortured in Tiantanghe Prison and is now paralyzed on one side of her body and has severe high blood pressure, heart disease, and a herniated lumbar disc.

3. [Hunan Province] Over 20 Practitioners Held in Hunan Women's Prison

Over 20 practitioners were taken to the Hunan Women's Prison. They are: Ms. Yan Hong, Ms. Zhang Lingge, Ms. Liu Chunxia, Ms. Zhou Deyuan, Ms. Wu Mindao, Ms. Zhang Hejun, Ms. Yu Zhenyu, Ms. Huang Duohong, Ms. Yao Jianping, Ms. Luo Dan, Ms. Guo Zhaoqing, Ms. Zhang Wenlan, Ms. Wen Ling, Ms. Tang Qingying, Ms. Tang Kaiju, Ms. Xiao Guiying, Ms. Zeng Chunmei, Ms. Li Baoxing, Ms. Deng Yue'e, Ms. Jin Fuwan, and others.

4. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhou Shengyong and Ms. Zhang Chunyan Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Zhou Shengyong and Ms. Zhang Chunyan from Nenbei Farm, Jiusan Reclamation Authority, Heihe City, were sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison by the Jiusan Reclamation Court on July 15, 2016.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Xiaofang Arrested

Ms. Wang Xiaofang was arrested at work by plainclothes officers on September 2, 2016. Her home was ransacked.

6. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xiaojuan Detained

Ms. Wang Xiaojuan from Haladaokou Town, Jianping County, was arrested on August 29, 2016, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Xidayingzi Detention Center.

7. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zheng Zixiang Detained

Mr. Zheng Zixiang from Tongcheng County was arrested at home by officers from the Tongcheng County Domestic Security Division on the morning of September 3, 2016. He was taken to the Tongcheng County No. 1 Detention Center.

8. [Shihezi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Chen Shihai was sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison. Ms. Ju Zaiping and Ms. Gao Yan were each sentenced to three-and-a half years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan.

9. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Mr. Meng Zhaofu, Ms. Ren Shuxia, Ms. Tian Menghua, and Ms. Zhao Yulan from Chengfa Township were arrested in Yushu City on the morning of September 3, 2016, by Chengfa Township Police Station officers for talking to people about Falun Gong. The four practitioners were detained for 10 days.

10. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Junbo's Sentence Extended

Mr. Liu Junbo from Xinbin County was being held in Kangjiashan Prison in Shenyang City. Although his release date was September 4, 2016, he was still incarcerated as of this report.

11. [Beijing] Mr. Li Junfeng's Appeal Denied

Mr. Li Junfeng was arrested by Anzhen Police Station officers on December 29, 2015. He was sentenced to four years in prison by the Chaoyang Court. On appeal, the sentence was upheld.

12. [Beijing] Ms. Chen Yuying Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Chen Yuying from the Chaoyang District was taken to the Huairou Police Station on the morning of November 17, 2014, by the driver of a car for hire for talking about Falun Gong. Officers from her local police station and the Huairou Police Station ransacked her home. She was sentenced to three years in prison and is now in the Beijing Women's Prison.

13. [Kaiyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Fengyan Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Xu Fengyan was arrested in September 2015 by officers from the Qinghe District Police Department's Domestic Security Division for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to five years in prison and taken to the Shenyang Women's Prison.

14. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Wu Yumin Arrested

Mr. Wu Yumin was recently arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong.

15. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Wanping Detained

Mr. Li Wanping was arrested on the evening of September 2, 2016, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. He was taken to the Jinzhou Detention Center for 10 days of detention.

16. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Mr Yang Yunliang and Mr. Liu Arrested

Mr. Yang Yunliang was visiting Mr. Liu, a carpenter, on the morning of September 1, 2016. When he got to Mr. Liu's home, the police were ransacking the home and arresting Mr. Liu. Mr. Yang was also arrested.

17. [Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Xu Ruifen Given Criminal Detention

Ms. Xu Ruifen from Anbu Town was arrested on the evening of September 1, 2016, by Anbu Town Police Station officers for talking to people about Falun Gong. She has been placed under criminal detention.

18. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Mr. Li Yuhan's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Li Yuhan from Guxing Town in the Huiji District was arrested on September 1, 2016, for setting up Falun Gong display boards. His whereabouts is unknown.

19. [Huaibei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Yuhua Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhang Yuhua was arrested by staff from the Huaibei City Political and Legal Affairs Committee and police officers on September 1, 2016. She was taken to the Brainwashing Center at the Suixi Home Inn.

20. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Su Sujie Detained

Ms. Su Sujie was arrested and taken to the Weizigou Detention Center by officers from the Xinchun Police Station in the Nanguan District on the evening of August 31, 2016.

21. [Wuxue City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Qinghua and Ms. Tao Meiyun Detained

Ms. Li Qinghua, in her 60s, from Tian Town was arrested on August 31, 2016, and taken to the Wuxue City Detention Center for distributing Falun Gong materials in Tian Town.

Ms. Tao Meiyun, 65, from the Kanjiang Neighborhood was arrested and taken to the Shifosi Police Station on August 27, 2016. She was transferred to the Wuxue City Detention Center.

22. [Liuzhou City, Guangxi Province] Ms. Wei Meijin and Ms. Duan Xiuxia Detained

Ms. Wei Meijin and Ms. Duan Xiuxia, practitioners from Tangshan City, Hebei Province, were arrested on August 20, 2016, in Zhongmai Town, Liucheng County, Liuzhou City, Guangxi Province, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Wei Meijin is from Shawoxingzhuangzi Village, Fengnan Town, the Fengnan District, and Ms. Duan Xiuxia is from Puzhuangzi Village, Chahe Town, the Fengrun District.

Both practitioners were detained for 15 days in the Liucheng County Detention Center. Instead of being released on September 5, 2016, they were taken to the Liuzhou City Brainwashing Center.

23. [Shifang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Zhaolan Detained

Ms. Wu Zhaolan from Majing Town was arrested by officers from the Yinfeng Town Police Station on August 3, 2016, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was detained for 15 days in the Shifang City Detention Center.

24. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhou Shuhua Detained

Ms. Zhou Shuhua was arrested on May 19, 2016. She was held in the Benxi City Detention Center.

25. [Chaling County, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Yongfen and Mr. Yin Fuliang Arrested

Ms. Liu Yongfen was arrested in Zhuzhou City on August 26, 2016, by plainclothes officers for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was held for 15 days in the Zhuzhou City Detention Center.

Mr. Yin Fuliang is an assistant statistician with the No. 5 Department of the China State Construction Engineering Corporation in Changsha City. He was arrested by officers from the Chaling County 610 Office and the Lushui Town Police Station.

26. [Qiangou County, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Qi Detained

Ms. Jiang Qi was arrested and taken to a detention center by Piao Yufeng, director, Jilatu Township Police Station, and other officers on August 30, 2016.

27. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Yanbo Died in Her 40s

Ms. Liu Yanbo, who worked at the Harbin Film Machinery Factory, was arrested on December 31, 2011. She was sentenced to one-and-a-half years of forced labor and was tortured. She died in her 40s, on September 2, 2014, from complications due to torture.
