(Minghui.org) With the advancing situation of the Fa-rectification, more and more Dafa disciples have stepped out to clarify the truth to sentient beings face-to-face and persuade them to withdraw their membership in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. I would like to offer some suggestions to them.
I have noticed that some practitioners are too eager to clarify the truth. As soon as they start a conversation, they talk endlessly without considering the other person's position or their ability to accept the truth. They put out a great deal of effort but the other party simply doesn’t take anything in.
I witnessed a practitioner doing this. Out of politeness, that person didn’t take a stand or refute anything he was told. But after the practitioner left, he asked me: “What was he talking about?”
Even as practitioners we took time to understand all the factual information about Falun Dafa. For an ordinary person who has been deceived by the CCP’s propaganda for a long time, his ability of accepting the truth could be limited.
We shouldn't give him too much information at once. Elementary school teachers can tell you that you need to slow down when teaching the elementary students. Some key points and difficult issues might need to be taught repeatedly. People have differing abilities for accepting the truth. Unless we know how much they understand, it is best to start from the beginning. We should start with things that are easy to accept, rather than putting forth subjects that might make them defensive.
If we encourage them to express their feelings and views, we can find out where they are stuck. Then we can target it and clarify the truth to him or her accordingly. This will improve the results.
Furthermore, some practitioners don’t know how to start when encountering strangers. In this regard, the consensus from many practitioners is to initiate greetings. The greeting should not be too half-hearted. They need to reflect genuine care.
Master has told us many times not to talk too high a level when talking to people about Falun Dafa. We need to take people's ability of acceptance into account. We have to consider their perspective when clarifying the truth to them, so that they can really understand.
