(Minghui.org) Chen Chia-yu from Zhengli in Taiwan spoke about her problem with jealousy two years ago at the cultivation experience sharing conference in Taipei. She would now like to share with everyone how she completely rid herself of the attachment.

Chen Chia-yu from Zhengli, Taiwan

“Through learning Master's teaching, I increased my understanding of the Fa incrementally and eliminated the attachment bit by bit,” she said.

Chia-yu and her husband lived harmoniously. But after they had a child, they started to have some small conflicts. She had a hot temper and wished to control everything at home. Once one of her friends warned her, “Your husband will have an affair if you don't change your hot temper.” The friend's warning left a strong impression on her.

In 2013 she suffered a back injury, called spondylolisthesis, while moving heavy items. Six months of medical treatment did little to cure it. She felt depressed and miserable, mostly confined to her bed. Her husband persuaded her to learn Falun Gong.

Chia-yu started learning the exercises in Winter 2013. After learning the first set of exercises she thought, “This practice can make me healthy.” She participated in a nine-day free teaching session in January 2014. Her injury completely recovered after practicing Falun Gong for a short time.

Jealousy Hurts Self and Others

She and her husband went to a practice site together every morning. “I felt very happy,” Chia-yu said. But four months later, she saw her husband sharing with a female practitioner at the practice site. She became jealous and suspected that her husband might be having an affair.

Her suspicious mind led her to imagine that her husband and the female practitioner were in a relationship. Her jealousy made her out of control. She argued with her husband and said many terrible things. The practice site was affected.

To avoid suspicion, the female practitioner stopped attending the morning group practice. Her husband slowly left the group practice environment and lost his diligence in practicing.

Chia-yu was frustrated and shared with fellow practitioners. But her frustration was not resolved. She knew that only through improving her understanding of the Fa could she rid herself of jealousy.

Following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance

She kept practicing and studying the Fa every day. She enlightened that jealousy is a notion and not her true self, so it must be removed. Along with the improvement in her understanding, she was able to rid herself of jealousy bit by bit. It was a painful process.

She told herself, “I am fortunate to practice Dafa. Why do I not treasure it? I must follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.” She steeled her will to rid herself of jealousy.

She gradually started to think of others, “How could I hurt them? Nothing happened between them.” She felt she had been wrong to interfere with other practitioners. “I felt sorry for my husband,” she said.

She became gentle and considerate. Her husband was happy to see her change and he returned to the group environment.

“Completely ridding myself of jealousy made me feel refreshed, open-minded and delighted!” she said, “I am grateful to Master and Dafa for letting me step out of the frustration. I have a completely new view of life now.”
