Additional Persecution News from China – July 21, 2016 (24 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 10 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 19 were illegally arrested. Several practitioners seeking to mail letters of complaint regarding Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme Court have met with obstacles.

Mr. Yu Ruijun was arrested by officers from Chengxi Police Station on November 4, 2015 for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. He has been held at Taishan Detention Center and was tried on February 26, 2016.

2. [Fuyu City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced

Ms. Li Yuzhen, Ms. Li Yanxia, and Ms. Su Jing were sentenced by Songyuan City Intermediate Court on July 4, 2016 and taken to Changchun Women's Prison. Ms. Li Yuzhen and Ms. Li Yanxia were each sentenced to seven years in prison. Ms. Su was sentenced to four years.

Mr. Zheng Yanji was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison. He was taken to Gongzhuling Prison on July 12, 2016.

Ms. Xi Guoxiu, from Hanyang District, was arrested by officers from Ezhou on July 12, 2016. She is held at Ezhou Detention Center.

4. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Mr. Zhou Aihua Detained

Mr. Zhou Aihua, in his 60s, was arrested at home by officers, including Tang Zhixi, from the local Domestic Security Division on July 15, 2016. He is detained at Huaihua Brainwashing Center.

5. [Shanghai] Ms. Wang Jinxiu's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Wang Jinxiu was arrested at home on July 20, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.

6. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Feng Xincheng Sentenced

Mr. Feng Xincheng was arrested by officers from Yanta District Domestic Security Division and has been detained for two years. He was recently sentenced to a two-year-and-ten-month prison term by Yanta District Court.

7. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Chen Mingan Detained

Mr. Chen Mingan was arrested at home on July 21, 2015. He has been held at Xi'an No. 1 Detention Center for one year.

He was tried by Chang'an District Court on December 11, 2015 and was not sentenced due to lack of evidence. However, he is still detained.

Ms. Lei was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center on July 19, 2016.

9. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Yujian Detained

Mr. Liu Yujian was arrested by officers from Wanshousi Police Station on July 15, 2016 for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong at Beijing Institute of Technology. He is detained at Haidian Detention Center.

Mr. Wang Chuang was arrested by officers from Xingfu Police Station on June 28, 2016. He was taken to Shahekou District Police Department.

11. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Huang Yanzhi and Ms. Wu Yueyin Detained

Ms. Huang Yanzhi and Ms. Wu Yueyin were arrested by plainclothes officers on July 13, 2016 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are held at Jiedong Detention Center.

Ms. Huang Najia was arrested after going to Jiedong County Court on July 19, 2016 to attend the trial of Ms. Xu Ruiping and Mr. Yang Zhuangkai.

13. [Beijing] Mr. Duan Chunchao's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Duan Chunchao was arrested at home on May 24, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. His whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Li Detained

Ms. Wang Li was arrested on July 20, 2016 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is detained at Houhu Police Station.

15. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lin Yaqing Detained

Ms. Lin Yaqing was arrested by officers from Shangdian Police Station on July 17, 2016 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She escaped that afternoon.

She was arrested again at her workplace by officers from Linqing Domestic Security Division on July 19. She is being held at Linqing Detention Center.

Ms. Mu Yufang was sentenced by Jiang'an County Court on March 28, 2016. She appealed to Yibin City Intermediate Court, which did not hear the case. She was secretly taken to Longquanyi Prison.

Ms. Zhang Fengxia was arrested at home by officers, including Chen Zhi, from the local Domestic Security Division on July 4, 2016. She is being held at Chaoyang Detention Center.

Mr. Ma Yanhua was arrested by officers from Lingyuan City on November 12, 2015. He has been held at Lingyuan City Detention Center. He was sentenced to a seven year prison term by Lingyuan City Court on June 20, 2016.

Ms. Wang Jimei was arrested and taken to Yubei District Detention Center on July 13, 2016.

21. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Jijun and Ms. Shi Yingxia Arrested

Mr. Wang Jijun and Ms. Shi Yingxia were arrested by officers from Qingshan District Police Department and Ganghua Street Police Station on July 19, 2016. The police confiscated their cell phones, computers, and other personal items.

22. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Yong Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yong was arrested by officers from Liangjiatun Police Station on February 24, 2016 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was interrogated for seven hours at the police station. Officers extorted three thousand yuan in cash from Ms. Zhang's husband in exchange for her release and did not provide a receipt.

Ms. Zhang Yinming was arrested at work by officers from Jiulongpo 610 Office on July 19, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.

24. [Jinyun City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Zhao Yongyue Sentenced

Mr. Zhao Yongyue was arrested on November 11, 2015 for suing Jiang Zemin. He was sentenced to six years in prison term and fined 30,000 yuan by Jinyun Court on July 12, 2016.
