Additional Persecution News from China – August 8, 2016 (5 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 4 provinces. According to this report, 2 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 6 were illegally arrested.

1. [Wanzai County, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Yang Dexin Sentenced
2. [Xiji County, Ningxia] Mr. Yan Lanjiang Sentenced
3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
4. [Laiyuan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaofen Arrested

1. [Wanzai County, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Yang Dexin Sentenced

Mr. Yang Dexin, 48, was arrested by officers from the Wanzai County 110 Patrol Office on February 26, 2016. He was tried by Wanzai County Court on June 15, and sentenced to a one and a half year prison term on August 24.

2. [Xiji County, Ningxia] Mr. Yan Lanjiang Sentenced

Mr. Yan Lanjiang was sentenced to an eighteen month prison term by Yuanzhou District Court on August 4, 2016.

3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Jiang Guiqin, Ms. Liu Maimei, Ms. Li Juhua, and Ms. Nan Tianju were arrested at Ms. Jiang's home by officers including Chen Jianping from the Huangpi District Police Department on June 28, 2016.

Ms. Liu was detained at Erzhigou Women's Detention Center for 10 days. Ms. Jiang and Ms. Li had to leave home to avoid further persecution.

4. [Laiyuan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaofen Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xiaofen was arrested by officers from the Laiyuan County Police Department on August 5, 2016. She was later taken to Baoding City.

Mr. Xia Fuli was arrested by officers from the Taishitun Police Station on August 4, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked his home. He is detained at the Miyun Detention Center.
