(Minghui.org) I am a police officer in northeastern China. Both my mother and sister are Falun Gong practitioners.

There were many different qigong practices in society before 1999. People were allowed to practice whatever they wanted, so I didn’t think too much about Falun Gong being good or bad.

After Jiang Zemin, the former leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), outlawed Falun Gong, my mother and sister still insisted on practicing their belief. It really enraged me. I was in the Chinese law enforcement system, and I knew the Party’s powers were above the law, leaving civilians with no free will and a strict requirement to obey the Party. I thought, Why go against them?

The CCP is very good at implication. Since I was afraid of being implicated, I disowned my mother and my sister. Then, eight years ago, my sister was sent to a labor camp, and I worried about my mother and went home to see her. My mother was very happy to see me home.

Because of my returning home, I also got to meet some Falun Gong practitioners.

On a very cold day, I walked to my mother’s house and saw Falun Gong practitioners cleaning my mother’s windows on the second floor. My heart dropped.

As soon as I entered the house, I yelled at them, “You are not allowed to clean the windows! What would happen if you fell?”

They ignored me and just finished cleaning, with smiles on their faces.

I noticed the change in my mother when I came home. Before, if anyone had said anything that she didn’t like, there would be a war of words no matter who was opposing her. Now, it didn’t matter what I said, even words that were offensive to her. She always answered me with a smile. I really enjoyed being home.

One day I found out my sister was going to be released, and I knew the police and agents from the 610 Office would not let her go directly home.

I went to the labor camp early on the morning she was supposed to be released. As I'd expected, many officials were there and about to take my sister away. They were stymied, however, by Falun Gong practitioners who were talking to them.

I quickly pulled my sister into my car and drove as fast as I could. The officers chased me, but I was able to evade them.

Afterward, I was shocked at myself—where did I get such courage?

These past few years have shown me the true colors of the CCP--just how evil it is--and how wonderful Falun Gong is.

My health wasn’t that good before I returned to see my mother during my sister’s absence, and my complexion was always sallow. Even though I could control my weight and diet, I couldn’t improve my health.

But now I always feel light. Whenever I encounter difficulties, I think about my mother’s smile and the smiles of those Falun Gong practitioners and then remember what to do. I now face life with honesty and kindness. I do not retaliate when beaten or sworn at, and I conduct myself according to Falun Gong’s standards.

I find that my life is now filled with sunshine, righteous energy, and power.
