Additional Persecution News from China – August 9, 2016 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 6 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 19 were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Yuan Wen Tried

Ms. Yuan Wen was tried in Changping District Court on August 8, 2016.

2. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhu Xiansheng Imprisoned

Mr. Zhu Xiansheng was sentenced to five years in prison in the Mei County Court on May 27, 2016. He appealed to Meizhou City Intermediate Court, but his sentence was upheld without a trial on July 15. He was taken to Sihui Prison in Guangdong Province on August 4.

3. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Mr. Pang Liang Is Critically Ill

Mr. Pang Liang was arrested on November 18, 2013, and later sentenced to a three-year prison term. He is incarcerated at Xinmi Prison in Zhengzhou City.

His family went to see him on August 3, 2016. He needed support to walk and had difficulty taking care of himself. The prison authorities said that Mr. Pang suffered rheumatic heart disease. His family wanted to apply for a medical parole, but the prison denied their request.

4. [Fuyu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Yanxia Tortured in Prison

Ms. Li Yanxia was sentenced to a seven-year prison term on July 4, 2016. She is incarcerated in the No. 8 Ward of Jilin Province Women's Prison.

Ms. Li developed tuberculosis, as well as uterine and ovarian tumors, due to persecution. She was held in isolation. The guards forced her to sit on a torture device, a small stool, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Every day. If she moved, they beat her. She is now very weak. Her family has requested that she see a doctor, but the prison refuses to allow it.

5. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Ling Arrested

Ms. Zhang Ling was arrested at home on August 8, 2016.

6. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Lixia Detained

Ms. Zhao Lixia was arrested on August 8, 2016, while distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is detained in Xinjiu Police Station.

7. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Gao Wenfeng was arrested on August 27, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Huang Shuqin and Ms. Cao Yumei were arrested near Xinshiji Plaza on August 8, 2016.

8. [Xingye County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region] Mr. Chen Jiajian Detained in Brainwashing Center

Mr. Chen Jiajian, 59, was arrested by officers from Xingye County 610 Office on August 5, 2016. He is detained in the Qinzhou City Brainwashing Center.

9. [Yuanqu County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Meng Lixia Detained

Ms. Meng Lixia was arrested by officers from Yuanqu County Domestic Security Division and director Wu of the Huafeng Town Police Station on August 3, 2016. They put black headgear on her, handcuffed her, and took her to the Yanhu District Detention Center in Yuncheng City.

10. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Ms. Wu Meiying Detained

Ms. Wu Meiying was arrested and taken to Huaihua Brainwashing Center on July 2, 2016, when she was posting informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong outside the brainwashing center.

She was later taken to Chengnan Police Station in the Hecheng District.

11. [Jimo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Jijing and Mr. Li Taoyuan Detained

Mr. Wang Jijing and Mr. Li Taoyuan were arrested by Fengcheng Police Station officers on July 28, 2016. They are being held in Pudong Detention Center.

12. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Fengling and Mr. Peng Jie Detained

Ms. Liu Fengling and Mr. Peng Jie were arrested at Ms. Liu's home by officers from Yongantai Police Station on July 22, 2016. The police ransacked Ms. Liu's home. They are now in Nangou Detention Center.

13. [Wangkui County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhai Haihong and Ms. Chen Lijun Detained

Mr. Zhai Haihong and Ms. Chen Lijun were arrested on August 5, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were held in Wangkui County Detention Center for 15 days.

14. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Sufang, Mr. Ju Shijin, and Ms. Wei Yongxiu were arrested by Renlong Town Police Station officers on August 7, 2016, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police confiscated their electric tricycle, Falun Gong informational materials, and equipment worth over 10,000 yuan.

15. [Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Shang Libo Persecuted

Ms. Shang Libo was arrested on March 28, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is now in the Jinan City Detention Center. She was forced to take unknown drugs every day, which has affected her central nervous system.

16. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Jin Mingyuan Detained

Mr. Jin Mingyuan was arrested and taken to Jinqiao Police Station on August 1, 2016, for posting informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. He is being held in Dadong Detention Center.

17. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ding Baoxia Arrested

Ms. Ding Baoxia was arrested by officers from Guaziping Police Station in mid-July 2016.

18. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Chuanfang's Sentence Upheld

Ms. Yu Chuanfang, 76, was arrested by Yongchang Police Station officers on April 25, 2015, for posting a sticker that read, “Falun Dafa is good.” The police ransacked her home.

Ms. Yu was later sentenced to a three-year prison term by Zhenxing District Court. She appealed to a higher court, but her sentence was upheld by Dongdong Intermediate Court on April 15, 2016, without a trial.
