Additional Persecution News from China – July 31, 2016 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 10 were illegally arrested.

1. [Chongqing] Ms. Luo Suqin Arrested

Ms. Luo Suqin was arrested by officers including Lian Shibin from Jiangbei District 610 Office on July 29, 2016.

2. [Nantong City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Lu Dequan and Ms. Guo Yuhua Sentenced

Mr. Lu Dequan and Ms. Guo Yuhua were each sentenced to a two year prison term by the Nantong City 610 Office and local Court on July 30, 2016.

3. [Yibin City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Dafen's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Zhou Dafen, from Xingwen County, Yibin City, was arrested on July 26, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Liang Aijiao's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Liang Aijiao was recently arrested in Jingde Town. Her whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Yufu's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Li Yufu was arrested by officers from Laizhou 610 Office and Domestic Security Division on July 30, 2016. His whereabouts are unknown.

He had been sentenced to a four year prison term in 2008.

6. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang] Mr. Jia Zhiyuan Detained

Mr. Jia Zhiyua, arrested on May 9, 2015, was sentenced to a four and a half year prison term by Qitai County Court on March 1, 2016.

He appealed to Changji Intermediate Court, which upheld the original sentence without a trial on June 16, 2016. He was taken to Urumqi No. 5 Prison.

7. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Mo Yanyan Detained

Mr. Mo Yanyan was arrested by officers from Gangding Police Station on July 16, 2016, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. He was released that day.

On July 20, he was arrested again at home by officers from the Tianhe Police Department and the Gangding Police Station. He was given 15 days of detention.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shu Yu Detained

Ms. Shu Yu is incarcerated at Liaoning Province Women's Prison.

9. [Yiyang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Guo Heping and Ms. Peng Gouzhi Detained

Mr. Guo Heping and Ms. Peng Gouzhi were arrested by officers from Ziyang Disrict on July 26, 2016, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are held at the Yiyang No. 2 Detention Center.

10. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Zongxiang Arrested

Ms. Sun Zongxiang was arrested by officers from Taoxu Police Station on July 25, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police confiscated many personal belongings. She was extorted 2,000 yuan and released that evening.

11. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Yueju Detained

Ms. Wang Yueju was arrested on July 29, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is detained at the Laiyuan County Domestic Security Division. She was beaten by captain Yang Jie.

Ms. Wang Chun was recently sentenced to a four year prison term by Shaowu City Court. She was taken to Fujian Province Women's Prison.
