(Minghui.org) Mr. Yang Rui was arrested by six plainclothes officers outside of his sister's apartment building in the morning of May 11, 2016. Without showing any identification, the men took Mr. Yang to a van (license plate Jilin-B536A5).
When Mr. Yang refused to tell the officers his sister's address, officers squeezed hot pepper juice into his nose, inserted lit cigarettes into his nostrils, and pressed a wrench against his lower leg, jerking it back and forth. The torture lasted nearly four hours before they took him to the Jiaohe City Police Department.
The police focused their interrogation on several banners which they believed were put up by Mr. Yang. Falun Gong practitioners in China often hang banners in public places to raise awareness of the brutal persecution they are subjected to under the communist regime.
His lawyer went to the Jiaohe Detention Center on the morning of June 2 but met resistance from police before being allowed to see his client.
