(Minghui.org) A brother and sister were held by the police for seeking the release of their parents, who were arrested for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.

Mr. Pan Hongting and his wife Ms. Wang Xinlian were tricked into opening their door early in the morning on June 28. Officers pushed their way in and arrested the couple.

Ms. Pan Hong, the couple’s daughter, was still in bed when her parents were taken away. She was disabled as a baby, and her mother has taken care of her for the past more than 20 years.

With her younger brother at work, there was no one to help her dress, bathe, and eat.

Desperate for her parents’ release, she managed to get herself to the police station, even though she walks with a limp and has trouble maintaining her balance.

She went again on June 30 and was kept waiting for hours before police chief Ji Changyang showed up, demanding to know why she was there.

She reiterated her request for her parents’ release, as they had done nothing wrong for exercising their constitutional right to freedom of belief.

Chief Ji refused to address her concern. Instead, he called in an official from the local police bureau, who arrived with five subordinates to take her fingerprints and picture against her will. Her legs were badly bruised as she struggled to get away.

Ms. Pan’s brother went to the police station after work. The siblings got into a police van, believing that they would be taken to a local drug rehabilitation center to see their mother.

Once there, they knew they had been deceived – their mother was nowhere to be found. The police even tried, unsuccessfully, to force Ms. Pan to leave a urine sample for unknown reasons.

The siblings were warned to not seek their parents’ release again before being set free.

Their mother is being held in Yaojia Detention Center and their father in Daheishan Detention Center.
