Additional Persecution News from China – June 5, 2016 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 3 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 34 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Bian Aina Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Bian Aina was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. She is being held in the No. 10 Ward of the Shenyang Prison. Her family went to visit her twice, but were were not allowed to meet with her on either occasion.

2. [Taihe County, Anhui Province] Ms. Li Aiyun Detained

Ms. Li Aiyun from Santang Town in Fuyang City was arrested by officers from the Taihe County Domestic Security Division in Hefei City in early May 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held in the Taihe County Detention Center.

3. [Linzhang County, Hebei Province] Six Practitioners Detained

Mr. Guo Yanjun, Ms. Niu Xiangzhen, Mr. Jiao Ruyi, Ms. Liang Xiuzhen, Ms. Chen Xiying, and Ms. Bao Lan were arrested by officers from the Baiheji Township Police Station when they distributed Falun Gong informational materials on the evening of May 29, 2016. Their car was confiscated. Mr. Guo and Mr. Jiao were held in the Linzhang County Detention Center. The four female practitioners were taken to the Handan City No. 1 Detention Center.

4. [Chongqing] Six Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center

Eight practitioners, Ms. Tang Yuanbi, Ms. Lan Tailian, Mr. Wan Deyu, Mr. Gong Yanzhao, Mr. Feng Changyu, Mr. He Tiancai, Mr. Tang Quan, and Mr. Pu Yuansheng from the Hechuan District were arrested by plainclothes officers as they studied Falun Gong teachings on the afternoon of April 6, 2016.

The eight practitioners were taken to the Heyang Police Station. Mr. Feng was released because of his high blood pressure. Mr. Gong was also released due to his fragile physical condition. The other six practitioners were taken to the Wuzun Brainwashing Center in the Hechuan District.

5. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Pei Yongmei Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Pei Yongmei was arrested by officers from the Kuiwen District Domestic Security Division on the morning of May 30, 2016. She was taken to a brainwashing center.

6. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Ju (55 years old), Ms. Wang Yun (in her 40s), Ms. Li Changying, Ms.Wang Yuqin, and Ms. Liu Qinmei (64 years old) were arrested when they distributed Falun Gong informational materials on the morning of May 31, 2016. Ms. Li Changying was released that day. The other four practitioners were held in a detention center.

7. [Wenshang County, Shandong Province] Ms. Cao Lihua and Ms. Ai Xiang Detained

Ms. Cao Lihua from Yihai Village in Ciqiu Town and Ms. Ai Xiang from Caoqiao Village in Yinsi Town were arrested by officers from the Ciqiu Town Police Station when they distributed Falun Gong informational materials on the afternoon of May 29, 2016. Ms. Cao was sentenced to two years and six months in prison. Ms. Ai was detained for 15 days.

8. [Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Tou Caijuan Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Tou Caijuan was placed in criminal detention on November 11, 2015. She has been sentenced to five years in prison. She was taken to the Hangzhou Prison on May 4, 2016 despite the fact that she is not able to take care of herself.

9. [Jianchang County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Hui Shuxiang Detained

Ms. Hui Shuxiang was arrested and taken to the Huludao Detention Center by officers from the Chengjiao Police Station on June 2, 2016. The officers confiscated a computer and printed materials.

10. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Shumei and Ms. Yuan Guifang Detained

Ms. Zhang Shumei and Ms. Yuan Guifang from Gucheng Town were arrested when they talked to people about Falun Gong in Nanbeili Village, Shiduan Township, Xushui County on June 3, 2016. Both are being held in the Xushui County Detention Center.

11. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuzhen and Ms. Huang Dagui Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xiuzhen and Ms. Huang Dagui from Longpan Town were arrested by officers from the Longpan Town Police Station on April 24, 2016. Ms. Huang was held in the Nanchong City Detention Center.

12. [Shanwei City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Peng Fuxiang Detained

Mr. Peng Fuxiang from Luhe County was arrested at work at a construction site on June 3, 2016. The officers confiscated his cell phone and keys. He is being held in detention for 10 days.

13. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhou Yaqin Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Zhou Yaqin was arrested at Baiyinhua Town on June 3, 2016. Her home was ransacked. Her whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhu Xiansheng Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Zhu Xiansheng was sentenced to five years in prison by the Mei County Court on May 27, 2016. He was also fined 5,000 yuan.

15. [Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Baohua Detained

Ms. Li Baohua was arrested by officers from the Taoshan Police Station on the morning of May 8, 2016. She was held in the Qitaihe Detention Center.
