Additional Persecution News from China – April 21, 2016 (22 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 11 Provinces. According to this report, 20 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 19 were illegally arrested.

1. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Bao Xirong Arrested

Mr. Bao Xirong were arrested at noon on April 12, 2016 while he was telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Police ransacked his home, and seized his Falun Gong books, mini-speakers, and other items. He refused to disclose where he got his Falun Gong materials and refused to sign or place his finger prints on any police document in the Mengcheng Police Station. He was released that night.

2. [Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Xia and Ms. Lu Yan Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xia and Ms. Lu Yan were arrested on April 14, 2016 for telling others about Falun Gong.

3. [Mian County, Shaanxi Province] Persecution News on Ms. Xiao Yun

Ms. Xiao Yun and Ms. Yu Lan were arrested on April 15, 2016 for posting Falun Gong fliers. They were held separately in the Chengxi Police Station. Ms. Yu escaped that night. Ms. Xiao is incarcerated at the Hanzhong City Detention Center.

4. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Tan Guiying Beaten in Prison

Ms. Tan Guiying has been incarcerated in the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison. She was beaten for doing the Falun Gong exercises by inmates in the 11^th Ward in the early 2016. As a result, her face was bruised and swollen for several days. The inmates who beat her were Gao Qingyan (drug dealer), Fan Xiumei (killer sentenced to death with reprieve), and Chen Yang (drug dealer sentenced to death with reprieve).

Ms. Tan, 44, is a resident of Acheng, Harbin. She started to practice Falun Gong in 2006. She has been repeatedly beaten for her belief by prison inmates.

5. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Yang Xiufan Arrested

Mr. Yang Xiufan of Lingyuan City was arrested at home on April 13, 2016 by Ningcheng County police.

6. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Eight Practitioners Harassed

Police from the Qiaoguan Town Police Station harassed Ms. Liu Xiuqin, Mr. Zhao Aihua, Ms. Wang Yuqin, and Ms. Hao Xinming on the afternoon of March 24, 2016. They attempted to force Ms. Wang and Ms. Hao to sign papers.

Police harassed Ms. Xing Yuqin on the afternoon of March 26, and Ms. Ying Yujuan on the afternoon of March 25.

Officers from the Qiaoguan Town Police Station harassed Ms. Ren Fuxiang's family between March 24 and 28, 2016.

Agents from the Changle 610 Office seized Mr. Liu Liangmin of Qijiazhuang Village.

7. [Beijing] Ms. Ma Xiuying Incarcerated at Detention Center

Ms. Ma Xiuying, 79, and her son were deceived by two officers who came to their home on the morning of March 30, 2016. When they went to the Linxiaolu Police Station Ms. Ma was taken to a detention center.

8. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Pan Mingxia on Hunger Strike

It has been more than four months since Ms. Pan Mingxia was seized and confined at the Guangzhou City Brainwashing Center on December 3, 2015 by agents from the Liwan District 610 Office and officers from the Caihong Police Station. It is reported that she began a hunger strike to protest the brainwashing and was taken to Guangzhou Armed Police Force Hospital to be force-fed.

9. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Five Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Zhu Xinyu, Ms. Liu Yunzhi, Ms. Yin Xianrong, Ms. Cao Liaofen, and Ms. Zhang Cai were harassed at home on the morning of April 6, 2016 by twelve agents led by Mei Yongjian, CCP secretary of Longjiu Village, Hongyan Township. The agents ransacked their homes, and seized Falun Gong books, pictures of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong printouts, two speakers, and an MP3 player.

10. [Heyuan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Ou Mingxia Arrested

Ms. Ou Mingxia has been detained since she was arrested on the morning of April 19, 2016 by officers from the Yuancheng Police Department and the Yuancheng Domestic Security Division. The officers ransacked her home and seized her computer.

11. [Haiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zou Qingxi Arrested

Mr. Zou Qingxi, a retiree of Haiyang City Light Industry School, was arrested at home on the morning of April 19, 2016. His wife was visiting their son in Yantai City. When she came home late in the day and called the the Haiyang City Development Zone Police Station, police told her that he had been taken to the Haiyang city Detention Center.

12. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Peizhen Seized

Ms. Li Peizhen was seized at work on April 18, 2016. It was reported that she was taken to a brainwashing center.

13. [Xintai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Xiulin Arrested

Ms. Zhu Xiulin, around 50, is a resident of Longshan Village. She was arrested at home at noon on April 11, 2016 by officers from the Xintai City Domestic Security Division.

14. [Xian City, Shaanxi Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Huixia, Ms. Xie Yingying, and Ms. Zhao Guifang from Gaoling District were arrested on the morning of April 14, 2016 while they were telling people about the on going persecution of Falun Gong. Police took them to the Chonghuang Police Station, collected blood samples and finger prints from them by force, and took photos of them. They were released that night.

15. [Songxi County, Fujian Province] Ms. Ye Meiyu Detained

Ms. Ye Meiyu from Chengguan Town was arrested on the night of March 25, 2016 while she was posting Falun Gong fliers. Police interrogated her at the Chengguan Town Police Station until 3 a.m. Three officers ransacked her home and seized all of her Falun Gong books and print outs. Three days later, they convinced her to come to the police station. Then they took her to the Wuyishan Detention Center and detained her for six days.

16. [Feixi County, Anhui Province] Ms. Li Jufang Imprisoned at Mental Hospital, Two Others Harassed

Ms. Li Jufang, over 70, is a resident of Shangpai Town. Another Ms. Li is also over 70. Both of them were arrested on April 14, 2016 by agents from the Feixi County 610 Office. Ms. Li Jufang has been incarcerated at the Hefei City Mental Hospital. The whereabouts of the other Ms. Li is unknown.

Mr. Wang Danian, over 60, lives in Shangpai Town. Agents from the Feixi County 610 Office went to his home, and harassed and threatened his children.

17. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhu Yaxian and Ms. Zhang Suhua Illegally Tried

Ms. Zhu Yaxian and Ms. Zhang Suhua have been incarcerated at the Tonghua City Detention Center since they were arrested on September 2, 2014. They were illegally tried by Dongchang District Court on the afternoon of April 19, 2016.

18. [Chongqing] Police Ransack Ms. He Zhiqun's Home

Ms. He Zhiqun, 72, lives in Dianjiang County. Her home was ransacked by officers from the Dianjiang County Police Department. They seized her Falun Gong books and a picture of Falun Gong's founder. She happened to be away from home.

19. [Xian City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Xu Guixiang Forced to Flee from Home

Two police officers from the Jingjiulu Police Station came to Ms. Xu Guixiang's home on the morning of April 18, 2016. Ms. Xu refused to go with them to the police station. They tried to take a photo of her and her grandson. To avoid further harassment, Ms. Xu fled home and left behind her husband and two-year-old grandson. They are not able to take care of themselves and depend on Ms. Xu's care.

20. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Shuyun Detained

Ms. Zhang Shuyun was in Shijiazhuang New Railway Station and was going to her home town, Xingtai City on the morning of March 24, 2016. She was stopped and detained at the security check point. Officers from the Shijiazhuang Railway Police Department and the Chezhan Police Station ransacked her home, seized her Falun Gong books and other personal item. She was detained at the Jiuhuochezhan Police Station overnight, then taken to the Shijiazhuang No. 2 Detention Center. She has been imprisoned there since then.

Ms. Liang Meihua, 67, is a retiree of the Overseas Chinese Friendship Co. She was arrested at home at noon on April 19, 2016 by six officers from the Guangrunmen Police Station. She is incarcerated at the Nanchang City No. 1 Detention Center.
