(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) teaches people to live by the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I myself have personally experienced how Dafa changes people for the better.
I became illness free not long after I picked up the practice in 1997. Once very selfish, I learned to be considerate of others. I no longer held grudges against my older siblings for not helping my parents.
As the owner of a retail business, I treat my suppliers and customers with honesty and sincerity. In return, they trust me without reservation and enjoy doing business with me.
Me and My Family
I had always been introverted, rather isolated and cold. I did not know how to care about others and rarely had any friends during my school years. I made just one friend during high school, a boy who I later married.
I am the youngest in the family. I have two sisters and two brothers. My parents worked hard to take care of the five of us and were always busy with household chores since, as it seemed to me, my siblings did not help with the work. I saw how hard my parents worked and I grew to intensely dislike my siblings.
As long as I could remember, I had health problems. In my twenties, I developed gynecological and digestive problems. I took many pills each day.
The Hundred Yuan
In April 1997, my husband, who was my boyfriend at that time, took a bus with me from our hometown to the city where we worked.
When the bus arrived and we were about to get off, my husband saw a 100-yuan bill left on the seat in front of us where a lady had been sitting. He hurried to find the owner before she got off the bus. He gave her the bill but she did not even say “thank you.”
When he came back to get our things, we discovered that something of ours had been taken.
I complained to him because he did not keep the money and now we had lost something of our own. I was so disappointed with him that I did not see him for three months.
I Take Up Falun Gong
By July 1997, I suffered so much from my ailments that I decided to learn Falun Gong with my colleagues. When I read Zhuan Falun, I learned about the principle of no loss, no gain. I came to understand why my husband gave back the 100-yuan bill and made up with him.
I understood that there are no coincidences, so I no longer harbored bad feelings for my siblings. Instead, I often helped them. Even though I had to take care of my parents by myself, I did not feel it was unfair.
I studied the Fa every day and was so happy to regain a healthy body.
After the persecution of Falun Dafa began in 1999, I endured tremendous suffering. I lost my job, had to leave my home to avoid persecution, was sent to labor camps. I had money extorted from me. My father was even taken hostage by the authorities to make me renounce my belief. Nothing could change my belief in Dafa.
Three years ago, I opened a shop to sell furs in a shopping center.
Being a True and Good Person
Most fur suppliers do transactions in cash only. But, after a couple of years of working with them and having good credit, they trusted me enough to send the goods first and collect all I owed at the end of the year.
Last year, one supplier did not record that I owed them for three coats. I told them about the oversight and paid the over 3,000 yuan that I knew I owed. They were very grateful.
I no longer negotiate with my suppliers. I trust them and consider their interests first.
I also provide the best service to my customers. One day, a couple came to exchange a coat. Later they wanted to buy clothing at another shop but were short 1,000 yuan.
They came to my store to borrow the money with the exchanged coat as collateral, promising to wire the money to me later on. I decided to lend them the money without keeping the coat.
When my husband heard this, he was very angry. I told him that I always wanted to consider others first and it was now a habit. I trusted them. I talked about what he did with the 100-yuan bill before and how considerate he was. I had changed because of Dafa.
My customers paid me back the next day.
Unlike most other shops in China, I provide free water in my shop to anyone and people can even refill their own bottles. I also provide free repair service no matter where the clothes were purchased.
My service and good credit has made the whole shopping center well known.
