United Kingdom: Remembering April 25 by Telling More People about Falun Gong
(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners from Sheffield, Barnsley, and Leeds set up a Falun Gong information display outside Sheffield Town Hall in the UK on Monday April 25, in the spirit of the April 25, 1999 peaceful protest of over 10,000 practitioners in Beijing.
Many people in the busy city center stopped to watch the exercise demonstration, read the posters and leaflets, and sign the petition calling for an end to the brutal persecution in China which has gone on for 17 years.
One young couple who signed the petition had heard of Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) many years ago and were pleased to hear that there was a regular exercise class they could attend in the area. The woman had followed along with the exercise movements frequently from YouTube videos and was interested in doing them with a group. Practitioners directed them to www.falundafa.org where they could find the practice sites and the main book of teachings, Zhuan Falun. They went away looking energized and appreciative.
A student studying politics at the local Hallam University signed the petition set up by the international organization Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH). The petition is addressed to the United Nations to, among other things, “call upon the Chinese government to immediately end the brutal persecution of Falun Gong, which is the root cause for the forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners.”
The student took a handful of leaflets on the practice and persecution and said that he would hand them out to his classmates.
