Additional Persecution News from China – April 24, 2016 (30 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 2 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, at least 31 were illegally arrested, and the whereabouts of 2 are unknown. Several practitioners who mailed criminal complaint letters against Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme Court have met with obstacles.

1. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Ding Xuesen Arrested

Mr. Ding Xuesen was arrested in Shuangyashan City on the morning of April 22, 2016. It is believed that he is detained in the Jianshan Police Department.

2. [Zhuanglang County, Gansu Province] Mr. Yang Wenyuan Detained

Mr. Yang Wenyuan was arrested for distributing Falun Gong informational materials on April 22, 2016. He was held in the Zhuanglang County Detention Center. Seven plainclothes officers from the Zhuanglang County Police Department confiscated his keys during a body search and ransacked his home that evening. They confiscated a notebook computer, Falun Gong books, and several audio and video players.

Mr. Yang's wife was told on April 23, 2016 to go to the police department and sign arrest and detention documents, as her husband was to be taken to a detention center. At the police department she noticed that her husband looked haggard, had chapped lips, as well as swollen and wounded wrists. She suspected that he was tortured during the interrogation.

3. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhai Lijuan and Ms. Wang Yanping Arrested for Suing Jiang Zemin

Ms. Zhai Lijuan and Ms. Wang Yanping from Huajia Township were arrested at home by officers from the Huajia Township Police Station on April 21 and April 22, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator.

4. [Ma'anshan City, Anhui Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Sun Guangyu, Ms. Xiao Yuzhen, and Mr. Huang Zhaogui, from Lishui District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, were reported for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Bowang Town on April 21, 2016. The three practitioners were arrested. The Bowang police ransacked the homes of Mr. Huang and Ms. Xiao that night.

Families of the three practitioners went to the Bowang Police Station the following day to demand their release. The police refused to release them. At around 5:00 p.m., the three practitioners were taken to the Ma'anshan City Detention Center.

The police confiscated two vans, owned by Ms. Sun and Mr. Huang, and cell phones, among other items.

5. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Haizhen and Ms. Wang Xiulan Detained

Ms. Zhang Haizhen and Ms. Wang Xiulan were reported for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Dacanggai Town, Xuanhua District, on the morning of April 23, 2016. Both practitioners were arrested and taken to the Dacanggai Town Police Station and the transferred to the Shisanli Detention Center.

6. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Xie Kunxiang Taken to Prison

Ms. Xie Kunxiang was secretly taken to the Guangdong Women's Prison in January 2016.

7. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Over a Dozen Practitioners Arrested

Over a dozen practitioners were arrested and taken to the police department by officers from the Decheng District Domestic Security Division on the evening of April 22, 2016.

Mr. Li Zhiyong, from the Hengfeng Textile Co., Ltd., and his wife were carried downstairs at their home by several officers at about 7:00 p.m. that night. The couple was taken to the police station. Their home was ransacked, and the officers confiscated a printer, a small cutter machine, a notebook computer, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings. Mr. Li's wife had a heart attack and was taken to the municipal hospital. Four officers stayed in the hospital to monitor her.

Ms. Ma Yuqing opened the door, and Liu Dawei, an officer from the Domestic Security Division, went into their home. He ransacked her home and arrested her.

Ms. Liu Yueping was arrested on return home after taking care of her 84-year-old mother, who is paralyzed and bedridden. The officers then went to her mother's home and ransacked the place. They also made video recordings and questioned her mother.

About six officers from the Jianshe Street Police Station and the Changzhuang Police Station went to the homes of Ms. Chen Yuejuan and Ms. Liu Yuehong. Both practitioners were not at home. The officers then left.

Ms. Liu Yuehong's husband Mr. Li Zhiqiang was sentenced to four years in prison and is still held in the Shandong Province Prison for practicing Falun Gong.

8. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zuo Xianfeng Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zuo Xianfeng was sentenced to five years in prison.

9. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhai Xianghe and Ms. Dong Jinbo Held in Prison

Ms. Zhai Xianghe and Ms. Dong Jinbo were arrested by officers from the Fengnan District Domestic Security Division on August 6, 2014. They were tried in July 2015. Ms. Zhai was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison and Ms. Dong to three years. Ms. Dong appealed the sentencing. The Tangshan Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict. Ms. Zhai is held in the Jidong No. 4 Prison.

10. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Zhiyong Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Wang Zhiyong, from the Mingzhuhuayuan Residential Community, Shilipu Town, Miyun County, was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center by officers from the Shilipu Police Station on April 21, 2016.

11. [Beijing] Mr. Yu Longyuan Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Yu Longyuan from Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region was arrested again at his rental home in Beijing on March 7, 2016. His whereabouts are unknown. The police ransacked his place and confiscated a computer, a printer, and printed materials.

12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Fang Xijie, Ms. Zhang Fangxiang, and Ms. Liu Guangcai, from the Yangluo Neighborhood, Xinzhou District, were arrested by domestic security officers from Wuhan on April 21, 2016. The officers ransacked their homes and confiscated computers, and printers among other personal belongings.

13. [Chongqing] Ms. Li Yuanqi Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Li Yuanqi from the Jiangjin District was arrested at home by a group of nine people from the Jiangjin 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, the police station, and the residential committee on April 19, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Shanghai] Ms. Wang Qiuju and Husband Harassed for Suing Jiang Zemin

Ms. Wang Qiuju, 43, and her husband, from Gucun Town, Baoshan District, were harassed and threatened many times since July 2015 by local police officers and officials from the residential committee for suing Jiang Zemin. The officers and officials attempted to take them to a brainwashing center.

15. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Shumei and Ms. Lin Yuzhi Arrested

Ms. Zhang Shumei and Ms. Lin Yuzhi, from West Qugezhuang Village, Xiagezhuang Town, were arrested by plainclothes officers from the Laixi 610 Office and the local police station on the morning of April 21, 2016.

16. [Yuncheng County, Shandong Province] Mr. Cui Jun and Three Other Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Cui Jun and three other practitioners were arrested at home on April 21, 2016.

17. [Cangxi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Deng Shaoqiong Arrested

Ms. Deng Shaoqiong was arrested on the evening of April 21, 2016.

18. [Zijin County, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhong Xindi Detained

Four plainclothes officers broke into Ms. Zhong Xindi's home on the evening of April 21, 2016, and ransacked it. They confiscated Falun Gong books, printed materials, and several hundreds yuan. Ms. Zhong, in her sixties, was arrested and detained in Zijin County.

19. [Yuncheng County, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Cui Jun's home was ransacked by officers from the Yuncheng County Domestic Security Division on the morning of April 21, 2016. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books and other items. Ms. Cui was arrested and held in the Heze area.

The officers ransacked the homes of Mr. Zhang Hanzhong and Mr. Zhang Jianfeng, Zhangzhuang Village, on April 21, 2016. Both practitioners are detained in Juye County.

20. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Hongmei Arrested

Ms. Zhang Hongmei, in her seventies, was arrested at home by over 20 police officers from Xi'an in early April 2016. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated lots of Falun Gong informational materials. The detention center refused to admit her due to high blood pressure. She was released on bail.

21. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Fan Shufang Arrested

Ms. Fan Shufang was arrested on the evening of April 21, 2016.

22. [Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Yan Qiaolian and Ms. Gao Chanling Harassed

Chu Xiaoyan, head of Dai County Domestic Security Division, and Yan Dongwen, director of Shangguan Town Police Station, harassed Ms. Yan Qiaolian at home on the morning of April 20, 2016.

Chu and four others went to Ms. Gao Chanling's home in the afternoon of the same day and harassed her. When Ms. Gao visited her husband in a hospital, police arrived and harassed her and her husband. Later, the officers returned to Ms. Gao's home and tried to pry open the door. The neighbors came out of their homes and the officers left without breaking in.

23. [Mengzhou City, Henan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Hua Jinlian, Ms. Su Jinzhi, and another practitioner were arrested for setting up Falun Gong informational display boards on April 19, 2016.

Ms. Zi Yulan was arrested by Wang Gongjun, head, Mengzhou City Domestic Security Division, and other officers on April 20, 2016.

24. [Cangxi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Deng Shaoqiong Arrested

Ms. Deng Shaoqiong, in her sixties, was followed by five police officers when returning home from grocery shopping on the morning of April 22, 2016. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, printed materials, DVDs, paper currency with Falun Gong content printed on them, and other personal belongings.

25. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Jifang Forced to Leave Home

Ms. Li Jifang, an employee at the Tongfeng Property Management Company, Nanyan area, Shengnan Community, Shengli Oilfield, was arrested by officers from the Binhai Police Department, officers from the Shengnan Police Station, and officials of her work unit on March 31, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin.

She was detained for 15 days. On the day she was released, officers from the Shengli Oilfield 610 Office and officials from her company attempted to take her to the Shengli Oilfield Brainwashing Center. Ms. Li was forced to leave home.

26. [Tianjin] Ms. Sui Yuxiang's Home Ransacked

A dozen or so police officers broke into Ms. Sui Yuxiang's home, in Babao Village, Tanggu District, and attempted to arrested her on April 21, 2016. She developed serious illness symptoms. The officers did not arrest her. However, they ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books.

27. [Jianchang County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Cheng Hanxiang's Home Ransacked

Officers from the Guzhangzi Township Police Station broke into Mr. Cheng Hanxiang's home in Baozhangzi Village and harassed him on April 15, 2016. They ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books and other informational materials. Mr. Cheng was not at home at the time.

28. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Jinyu and Ms. Xu Lianjun Arrested

Over 20 officers from the Jinshitan Police Department and the Dongjiagou Police Station, Dalian Development Zone, broke into Ms. Liu Jinyu's home and ransacked it at noon on April 21, 2016. They confiscated Falun Gong books, two computers, and 20,000 yuan in cash. Ms. Liu was arrested and taken to the Dongjiagou Police Station.

Over 20 officers from the Jinshitan Police Department arrested Ms. Xu Lianjun near her home the same day. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books and a DVD burner. Ms. Xu was taken to the Jinshitan Police Department.

29. [Beijing] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Shuyun and her son Mr. Fu Yujie, from the Daxing District were arrested on the morning of April 20, 2016. The officers ransacked their home and confiscated two printers and a computer.

Four officers from the Puhuangyu Police Station broke into Ms. Liu Shuying's home in the Heyinanli Residential Community, ransacked it on the evening of April 20, 2016 and confiscated Falun Gong books. They took her to the police station and released her at 12:30 a.m. They returned in the morning and harassed her.

Officers from the Fanjia Village Police Station in the Daxing District brought Ms. Yang Chunxiu to her home in the Dongshimen area to ransack it at night on April 20, 2016. Ms. Yang was placed under criminal detention for 30 days. She is being held in the Fengtai Detention Center.

30. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Jiao Zhensheng Secretly Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Jiao Zhensheng, in his seventies, lives alone in Lulong County. He was arrested by officers from the Lulong Police Department and Luan County Domestic Security Division. He was secretly sentenced to prison by the Lulong County Court and taken to the Jidong Prison.
