(Minghui.org) Mr. Xu Qinli and Mr. Meng Guangyan, both Falun Gong practitioners from Xintai City, Shangdong Province, were arrested on April 12, 2016. Mr. Xu was arrested after filing a criminal complaint against former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin, and Mr. Meng was arrested for viewing the Minghui.org website at work.

Mr. Xu mailed his complaint against Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate last September, seeking to prosecute the former Communist Party leader for ordering the violent suppression of Falun Gong. Over the winter, Xintai police officers ransacked his home and seized all of his Falun Gong materials and an MP3 player. They also confiscated a cell phone.

To avoid further persecution, Mr. Xu was forced to stay away from home for two years and was imprisoned for three years. He was tortured so severely that his right arm became disabled.

Mr. Meng was arrested by Xintai police for using his cell phone to visit Minghui.org at work. Officers then ransacked his home and seized all his Falun Gong books, a radio, and e-books.

Mr. Meng had previously been arrested and spent two years in a forced labor camp for practicing Falun Gong.

Both men are being held in the Beishi Detention Center, which is under the Xintai Police Department.
