(Minghui.org) Master's Fa truths display themselves during cultivation. As a practitioner, no matter what projects we've participated in directly or indirectly, and no matter what we've done for fellow practitioners, it has all been done for ourselves. As such, helping fellow practitioners provides us with opportunities to cultivate so that we can upgrade our xinxing and break through our levels.
Master said,
“In other words, all the things you're doing, including the small and insignificant things, all of them are done for yourselves, and not a single thing is done for Dafa, nor is a single thing done for me, your master.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa Conference”)
Cooperation and Coincidence
A fellow practitioner asked me to help him submit a “solemn declaration” to the Minghui website in May 2013. It was not published by Minghui, so he submitted another one in June, which was again not published. By the end of August, he wrote another three declarations and increased it to 600 words, but none were published. I was touched by his perseverance in writing the solemn declaration.
When he wrote his fifth declaration, I began to look at the process. On the surface, it looked that the solemn declaration met the Minghui requirements. But why were none of the submissions published? There was no coincidence.
I looked inward and realized that I was helping him as a “personal favor.” I did not realize that the persecution of this fellow practitioner was also the persecution of all practitioners, because we are one body. I did not realize that helping him was indeed cooperating with him to dissolve the persecution of him and our local practitioners as one body. I had held the wrong thought that it had nothing to do with me, and that he should look within.
When I helped him submit it to Minghui again, I eliminated my own notions and attachments first. Then, I sent righteous thoughts to eliminate all the evil that interfered with this practitioner.
Master said,
“This tells us, then, that there are differences in how people handle many things. Thus the outcomes are different.” (“Fa Teaching Given in Manhattan”)
I used the Fa principles and prepared the submission according to what Master taught us and cooperated as a particle of the one body. The declaration was soon published.
Breaking Through Human Notions
A fellow practitioner asked me to help her hang banners on the eve of the 2016 New Year. I refused and regretted it very much afterward. I realized that we should cooperate with fellow practitioners.
Master said,
“The next person's things are your things, and your things are his things.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference,” July 2002)
I looked inward and realized it was a rare opportunity for me to break through my notions.
I told this practitioner that I would go with her to hang banners that evening. Before we left, I read three lectures in Zhuan Falun and sent forth righteous thoughts.
We took her electric bicycle because it was faster and more convenient. I sat on the back seat and sent forth righteous thoughts.
When we arrived at our destination, there were many cars passing by and a lot of foot traffic. I remained gracious to Master in my heart: “Master, thank you for arranging this opportunity for me to save people and validate the Fa. I know that I should cherish this opportunity. Please watch over us and and arrange that there be no passing vehicles and pedestrians when we are ready to hang the banners.”
When I was ready to hang the banners, I sent righteous thought to the banners and said: “Banners, it is such an honor to help Dafa practitioners. You will fulfill your duty, release powerful energy, and save people who see you.”
It was amazing. Every time when we hung a banner, there were neither cars nor foot traffic; they only started again when we were about to leave. We hung about 10 banners within half-an-hour.
I had a new understanding of Master's poem:
“What is immortal? Human mentalities do not exist.”(“Distinction Between Human and Enlightened Beings” from Hong Yin)
I was in a state of no notions or attachments when I hung the banners. The only thing I wanted to do was to hang the banners to save more people. I felt mentally and physically relaxed and happy, and felt as if I was surrounded by a powerful energy. It did not feel as if it was winter.
It was just as Master mentioned in “Dafa Disciples Must Study the Fa”: “Everything has been prepared, and all that’s missing is for you to carry it out.” (“Dafa Disciples Must Study the Fa – Fa Teaching Given at the 2011 Washington DC Metro Area Fa Conference”)
I realized that when we really believe in Master and the Fa, we can break through human notions.
We Help Ourselves When We Help Fellow Practitioners”
A fellow practitioner had symptoms of shingles last summer. He worked out of town for a long time, did not study the Fa often, and seldom did the three things.
His wife is also a practitioner. She asked him to come home for a few days to adjust his cultivation state. She asked me to study the Fa and send forth righteous thoughts with him. I went to their home and we read five lectures a day. We also sent forth righteous thought for at least 30 minutes at every hour. His illness symptoms disappeared within five days, and he went back to work.
I experienced that my righteous thoughts increased in strength when I sent righteous thought for him. I felt very comfortable and relaxed when I sent righteous thoughts, and I experienced this state for the first time. I realized that we help ourselves when we help fellow practitioners.
There were a few practitioners who did not interact with fellow practitioners very often. The persecution started shortly after they started practicing Falun Dafa, and they did not know many other practitioners and could not obtain Dafa informational materials. Thus, I sent them Dafa materials and Master's new lectures on a weekly basis.
It has been more than 10 years since I made sure that they received Dafa materials. For this, they were truly diligent, which was instrumental in me building up my own mighty virtue.
When they expressed their appreciation, I said, “I did this also for myself. We are all Master's disciples. We can only thank Master for arranging for us to obtain the Fa, and we can only thank him for his compassion.”
In summary, helping fellow practitioners is to help ourselves. Master arranged this so that we can improve.
