Additional Persecution News from China – March 18, 2016 (31 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 14 provinces. According to this report, 20 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 31 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Dongguan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhao Yunhuan Arrested

Ms. Zhao Yunhuan, 67, was heading home with her 3-year-old grandson from a store in the Wal-Mart Plaza on the morning of March 16, when she and her grandson were arrested by seven police officers and taken to the Xincheng Police Station. Ms. Zhao was later transferred to the Dayouyuan Detention Center and held for 15 days.

Ms. Zhao filed a lawsuit against Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin with the Supreme Procuratorate and the Supreme Court in September 2015. Her daughter Ms. Zhao Changhong and her son-in-law Mr. Wang Peng were arrested in October 2015 for suing Jiang Zemin as well. The couple was detained for 15 days.

2. [Xiangyang City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Officers from the Laohekou City Domestic Security Division, the 610 Office, and local police station harassed and arrested several practitioners on the morning of March 10, 2016. They also ransacked the practitioner's homes. The practitioners had filed lawsuits against Jiang for initiating the persecution of Falun Gong.

Mr. He Junbo, Mr. Zhao Kun, and Ms. Tan were taken to the Laohekou City Detention Center.

Ms. Guo Guizhi was taken to the Beijing Road Police Station, where she was interrogated for nearly four hours. She has since returned home. The police confiscated calendars with Falun Gong content and a CD player from her home.

Ms. Zhou Huimin and Ms. Fan Shunxiang were harassed during the same time.

3. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Cong Qiuli Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Cong Qiuli was arrested in June 2015. She was illegally sentenced to three years in prison by the Lianyun District Court after spending nine months in custody. She was then taken to Nanjing Prison.

Ms. Cong's husband Mr. Zhang Yonghua was sentenced to four years in prison by the Lianyun District Court in 2015.

4. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Xiurong Detained

Ms. Ma Xiurong from the No. 14 Bureau of the Ministry of Railways was arrested on March 11, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. Her home was ransacked, and she was taken to the Zhonggong Detention Center to serve seven days of detention.

5. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yi Yingcui and Ms. Lan Hua Detained

Ms. Yi Yingcui and Ms. Lan Hua, from Huangmaoyuan Town, Xupu County, were arrested by Zhou Nanping, Party secretary of Tiepo Town, Lin Anping, director of the Tiepo Police Station (and other officers) when they were talking to people about Falun Gong at Tiepo Town in Zhongfang County on March 3, 2016. Both practitioners were taken to the Tiepo Police Station then to a detention center.

6. [Shanghai] Five Practitioners Detained

About eight police officers arrested five practitioners at a tourist attraction on Qibao Old Street in Qibao Town, Minhang District on the afternoon of March 15, 2016. Ms. Tang Guiqiu, in her late 70s, was released. Ms. Huang Qiaoqin, Ms. He Meiyun, Ms. Zhu Lihua, and Ms. Zhao were taken to the Fengxian Detention Center at 3:00 a.m. on March 16, 2015.

7. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Ms. Li Qin Faces Trial

Ms. Li Qin was arrested at home by officers from the local 610 Office in May 2015. Since then, she has been held in a detention center. The court scheduled a trial against her on March 18, 2016.

8. [Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Wu Qixue Arrested

About eight officers from the Meiliang Police Station in the Taihu area, led by political instructor Wang Bin, broke into a tailor's shop on the afternoon of March 16, 2016, and arrested elderly Mr. Wu Qixue.

9. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Niu Guifang and Another Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Niu Guifang and another elderly practitioner were stopped by village Party members in the Magang area on the evening of March 16, 2016. Both practitioners are being held in the Magang Police Station.

10. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Shen Youliang Detained

Yang Ying, head of the Fengfeng Mining Area Domestic Security Division, and other officers arrested Mr. Shen Youliang on the morning of March 14, 2016. That afternoon, officers from the Feixiang County Police Department took Mr. Shen to the Feixiang County Detention Center.

11. [Beijing] Mr. Xing Changwang and His Wife Ms. Wang Xiuzhen Missing

Mr. Xing Changwang, 65, and his wife Ms. Wang Xiuzhen, 63, from the Majiapao area in the Fengtai District, were sent to labor camps for practicing Falun Gong. They have been placed under residential surveillance and faced ongoing harassment. The couple filed lawsuits against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin in mid-July 2015 and received acknowledgment receipts. They have been missing since March 8^th, and their whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Yao Caiwen Arrested

Ms. Yao Caiwen was arrested on March 10, 2016, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials.

13. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Bi Jinli Detained

Ms. Bi Jilin was taken to the Yaojia Detention Center on an undisclosed date.

14. [Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Donglian and Ms. Chen Xueping Arrested

Ms. Chen Donglian and Ms. Chen Xueping from Anbu Town were arrested and taken to the Anbu Town Police Station by patrol officers when they were distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Hulu City.

15. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Qu Lianxi Arrested

A police officer posing as a courier came to Mr. Qu Lianxi's home to deliver a package on March 15, 2016. Mr. Qu was not at home. The courier told his family that the package had to be signed by him. When Mr. Qu rushed home that afternoon, he was arrested by officers from the Kuiying Street Police Station.

16. [Zhumadian City, Henan Province] Ms. Shao Xiayun and Her Daughter Ms. Li Jing Arrested

Ms. Shao Xiayun and her daughter Ms. Li Jing were arrested on March 14, 2016 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials.

17. [Linzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Qin Gaiying Detained

Four practitioners from Tianjinggou Village in Caisang Town went to the Dongyao Town Farmers Market to talk to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of March 15, 2016. They were reported to the police.

Ms. Qin Gaiying and another practitioner were arrested by officers from the Dongyao Town Police Station. Ms. Qin was detained for 10 days in the Linzhou Detention Center. When the other practitioner passed out, the police took her home.

18. [Lishui City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Fu Huilan and Ms. Li Fengbo Detained

Ms. Fu Huilan and Ms. Li Fengbo from Hengyang City, Hunan Province, were arrested in Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, around March 10, 2016. Both practitioners are being held in the Lishui City Detention Center.

The Lishui police went to Hengyang and ransacked Ms. Li's home when no one was there.

19. [Yangshuo County, Guangxi Province] Ms. He Dangling Remains in Custody

Ms. He Dangling was arrested on March 16, 2016. She remains in custody.

20. [Beijing] Ms. Han Yumei Detained

Ms. Han Yumei, from Xihenghe Village, Xitiangezhuang Town in the Miyun District, was reported by post office staff when she mailed her lawsuit against Jiang Zemin on February 21, 2016. She was arrested by officers from the Xitiangezhuang Town Police Station. The officers ransacked her home and forcibly took blood samples from her. She was taken to the Chaoyang District Detention Center for seven days of detention. She lost her job as a result.

21. [Tianjin] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Yuhong, Mr. Zhang Ziwen, and Mr. Zhang Ximing were arrested at home on March 15, 2016 by officers from the Junliangcheng Police Station in the Dongli District.

22. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lin Junyan Detained

Ms. Lin Junyan was arrested at home and taken to the Jinnan Road Detention Center.

23. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Yu Shulin Arrested

Mr. Yu Shulin from Nanmiao Village in Yuanbaoshan Town was arrested at the Xinjiang Train Station around March 12, 2016.

24. [Beijing] Ms. Shang Suyun Arrested

Ms. Shang Suyun was arrested by officers from the Moshikounanli Residential Community in the Shijingshan District on March 7, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin. She was taken to the police station and then to the Fangshan District Detention Center. The detention center refused to admit her because of her high blood pressure. She returned home that day.

25. [Beijing] Mr. Shang Baocai Detained

Mr. Shang Baocai was arrested by officers from the local police station in Tongzhou District on March 6, 2016. His home was then ransacked, and he was taken to the Tongzhou Detention Center. He has not yet returned home, and his condition is unknown.

26. [Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zheng Hongxia Detained

Ms. Zheng Hongxia was arrested at work by officers from the local Domestic Security Division on March 10, 2016. She has not returned home yet. Ms. Zheng had previously been held in a forced labor camp for a year.

27. [Tianjin] Ms. Ge Xiulan and Ms. Ge Xiuju Arrested

Ms. Ge Xiulan from the Hedong District was arrested by officers from the Zhongshanmen Police Station in the Hedong District on March 6, 2016. She returned home that day.

Her sister Ms. Ge Xiuju was arrested the same day by Liang Wei, an officer from the Daqiaodao Police Station and officers from the Domestic Security Division. She was released that day. She was arrested again two days later, and is being held in the Hebei District Detention Center.

28. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Gui Xianzhen Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Gui Xianzhen from the Qingshan District was arrested at home recently. She is being held in the Beihu Brainwashing Center.

29. [Chongqing] Ms. Huo Yunbi Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Huo Yunbi from the Fuling District was arrested in July 2015 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. She was sentenced to four and a half years in prison in January 2016.

Ms. Huo has been arrested, detained, and severely abused many times over the course of the persecution. She was arrested at home by officers from the Fuling District Domestic Security Division on May 7, 2004, for telling people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong informational materials. She was sentenced to three years in prison and incarcerated in the Yongchuan Women's Prison. She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in 2001 and was detained for one month. The total number of days that Ms. Huo was detained adds up to seven years and seven months.

30. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Ren Shuwen Arrested

Ms. Ren Shuwen from Dongdianzi Village in Fulongquan Town was arrested at home by six police officers on March 16, 2016.

31. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Rui Detained

Ms. Yang Rui was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong. She failed a physical exam, but was still taken to the Liaocheng Detention Center. Ms. Yang was detained for 15 days. The officers who arrested her – Ma Ruijin and Bai Linyi, are both from the Chiping County Domestic Security Division.
