(Minghui.org) More than 10 Falun Gong practitioners from Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, were harassed or arrested on February 26, 2016.
Mr. Li Peng, Mr. Hou Jinlu, Ms. Gong Liping, and others were detained in the Lingyun Hotel, Weibin District. Some were tortured.
Four practitioners are being held in the Weibin Detention Center and the Baoji No. 2 Detention Center.
Ambitious Official Organized Arrests
He Dong was promoted to the director position in the Baoji City Police Department on February 1. He wanted to show off his abilities to the Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC), and thus organized the arrests with the help of various police stations and domestic security branches.
Mr. Li Peng
Mr. Li Peng lives in Jujia Village, Gaojia Town, Weibin District, Baoji City. He was arrested by half a dozen plainclothes officers from the Weibin Police Department around 5 p.m. on February 26, 2015. He was on his way home after picking up his child from kindergarten. He asked why he was arrested and was told that he would be told later. Mr. Li suffered the tiger bench torture when he was detained in the Lingyun Hotel.
Mr. Hou Jinlu
Mr. Hou Jinlu from the Fifth Section, Jujialing Village, Gaojia Town, Weibin District, was working in Jiangsu Province. He was arrested by officers from the Weibin Domestic Security Division on February 16 and taken back to Baoji City.
Ms. Gong Liping
Ms. Gong Liping is from Rujia Village, Shennong Town, Weibin District. She was arrested at work on February 26 and detained in the Lingyun Hotel. The police officers also went to her home to take videos.
Mr. Lin Xu
Mr. Lin Xu from Jujia Village, Gaojia Town, Baoji City, was arrested at work by officers from the Weibin Police Department on February 25. The next day, the police ransacked his home and confiscated a computer. Mr. Lin was given a month of criminal detention at the Weibin Detention Center.
Ms. Yu Surong
Officers from the Weibin Police Department broke into Ms. Yu Surong's home on February 26. She was arrested and her home ransacked. The officers confiscated two personal computers. She is detained in the Baoji City No. 2 Detention Center.
Mr. Feng Xinxiang
Sun Hongshe and four officers from the Fufeng County Domestic Security Division broke into Mr. Feng Xinxiang's curtain shop in Fufeng County around 1 p.m. on March 1. They arrested and handcuffed Mr. Feng without showing any documents or arrest warrant.
They told his family, “If you want to find him, go to the Chengguan Police Station.” Later, Mr. Feng's son went to ask about him at the Chengguan Police Station.
Mr. Feng was beaten by five officers at the Chengguan Police Station. He was not released until the officers had extorted 500 yuan from his family.
The police ransacked Mr. Feng's home on March 2 and confiscated a desktop computer. Mr. Feng was given criminal detention and transferred to the Fufeng County Detention Center on March 4. The family asked the police station when Mr. Feng would be released. They claimed that the arrest was ordered by the Baoji City 610 Office and PLAC, so they neither knew the release date nor had the power to release him.
Ms. Xu Mingxia in Critical Condition
Several police officers arrived in police cars at Ms. Xu Mingxia's home in Beiwushao Village, Fengming Town, Qishan County on March 2.
The police hid near her home, and when Ms. Xu returned from shopping, the officers jumped out of the cars and beat her.
Ms. Xu was handcuffed with her arms behind her back and thrown into a police car. Later, red car stopped at Ms. Xu's home. They ransacked her home and confiscated a DVD player and Falun Gong books.
Ms. Xu is held at the Qishan County Detention Center. Ms. Xu's son went to the detention center to see her, but the detention center refused to let him meet his mother. They said, “This case belongs to Baoji City's special case panel. It has nothing to do with us.”
Ms. Xu has been on a hunger strike for several days to protest her illegal detention, and she is in critical condition.
She was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison some time ago, as well as imprisoned in the Panjiawan Brainwashing Center.
