Preschool Teacher Repeatedly Arrested for Her Belief

(Minghui.org) Ms. Gao Meixiang from Weifang City, Shandong Province was again arrested on March 24, 2016, for telling people about Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) and the persecution. This is her fifth arrest for not giving up Falun Gong. She is currently held in the Weifang Detention Center.

Her home was ransacked the following day. Her Falun Dafa books, Falun Gong informational materials, and DVDs were confiscated.

Persecuted Since 1999

Since Jiang Zemin, the former leader of the Chinese communist regime, initiated the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999, hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested and sentenced. CCP authorities have also harvested organs from living practitioners and sold them for huge profits.

Ms. Gao was suspended from her job for two years, beginning in September 1999, after she expressed her intention to go to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. She lost two years of income, totaling 40,000 yuan. In trying to brainwash her, officials at her school forced her to watch television programs and read articles that slandered Falun Gong.

Four Former Arrests

Seven officers from the local police department burst into Ms. Gao's home in January 2005 and ransacked it, without showing any identification or a search warrant. They confiscated her computer, Falun Dafa books and informational materials, 300 yuan and more than $100 in US currency. She was taken to the Weifang Brainwashing Center.

Ms. Gao was arrested again in November 2007 for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was held in the Xuanwu Street Police Station and handcuffed to an iron chair for two days without being given any food or drink. The police extorted 4,000 yuan from her husband before they released her.

One afternoon in August 2009, she was arrested when paying her electricity bill. She was later given one year of forced labor and taken to the Zibo Forced Labor Camp.

She was arrested in June 2012 for giving people Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. Her home was ransacked the same day by officers from the local police station. Her Falun Gong books, a computer, DVD burner, cell phone and other items were confiscated. She was given one year of forced labor and taken to the Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province.

On her release date, she was taken to the Weifang Brainwashing Center, and her family was not allowed to see her.

Benefits from Practicing Falun Gong

Ms. Gao was a preschool teacher at the Weifang Petroleum Pipeline Bureau's kindergarten. She was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and other types of illnesses before she practiced Falun Gong. She had been to many hospitals, but without any marked improvement in her health.

Her friend introduced her to Falun Gong in 1996. Two weeks into the practice, her health improved, and her temper turned for the better. She was able to do household chores again. Her family lived in harmony until the onset of the persecution.
